"Official" Princesses list

Hi All,

I was looking into some things for my daughter and one thing came up - is Rapunzel an "official" princess?

I know Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, and Snow White are always listed but do Rapunzel and Tiana go in that group?

Raxip usually knows these things...

Mulan isn't on that list. It is officially snow white, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, belle, jasmine, Tiana and Rapunzel.

• Aurora
• Ariel
• Belle
• Jasmine
• Pocahontas
• Mulan
• Tiana

As of yet, I do not think that Rapunzel is an official Disney Princess.

Ha! I knew I was right about Mulan! I use to work at Target. The toy department had a set that had a doll for each of the official princesses. The art on the box Wizard posted.

I think people tend to accept or reject based off how popular the princess was. After only having 3 for so long (SW, Cindy and SB) Ariel and Belle were a breath of fresh air. They were very different from their predecessors. We had 5 pop up in a 10 year span (1989 - 1998 Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocohontas and Mulan ). When you have them coming fast and furious they are more easily set to the side by kids when they move on to the new one. I think it may be preceived as not being popular or well liked when in fact it is just the nature of a child to move on to the new toy. My daughter had several of the ones mentioned above, but Belle remains her favorite after all these years.

Interesting "tidbit" along those lines. Jasmine is the only Princess who is not the title character from her respective franchise.
