It wasnt meant to be criticism, just a general observation. I like the shot tho. I like juxtaposition of the moon & buzz....

Don't get my post wrong. I know what you were saying was not criticism of my shot. I appreciated your observation and information.

Ah yes.....

For the moon, you want to try to keep it in scale with your subject, so the best way to do that (short of using long glass) is to try shooting it right as its rising or setting. Somewhere ive got a shot of Morocco with the moon hanging over it. But you want to use some sort of a zoom lens; if you use a wide angle it will look like a dot. Trust me on that :D

Ahhh..thus explains my many moon photo failures. I've always tried photographing it with my wide angle lense. Next time I see a neat moon I'll go for the zoom lens. Will I get an ok shot with a 300mm zoom?

Yeah, it will fill the little 8mm or so Center weight circle thats in teh middle of the frame on a 300.

That one shot of the moon i had with the flames, during teh eclipse? Shot it with a 300 & 2 2x teleconverters. Roughhly 1200mm at f22 or something like that. And its STILL small.

My best shot was on a telescope ..... roughly 2400mm.

What did you use to take the neat shot of the big moon next to SSE?

Gordon, I gather you took the photo after being eliminated in an earlier round :D

 I wasn't brave enough to join in thank you very much!!

It was very cute though. It's something I've noticed about the characters at DL compared to WDW. They really go out of their way to interact with guests. Before seeing Alice and company, I saw Wendy and Peter running through the castle being chased by their fans in a game of tag. It really adds to the atmosphere in the park.

It wasn't tag. I was actually chasing him.
