I have no idea what it is or anything, but it is official and on the Disneyland website, playing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting this Friday, January 17, and confirmed through March 2, to play at 11:45 am, 2:00pm, and 3:00pm. It is entitled The Disney Princess Royal Fanfare, and will be played in addition to the 4:45pm and 8:00pm showing the Disneyland Parade of the Stars. This is listed as a parade, but there are no descriptions, so I have no idea what it is. You can find the new postings here:

Further updates, released today by Disneyland:

The Disney Princess Royal Fanfare

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! The Royal Court will open to everyone in the land!

A fanfare of trumpeters, royal court dancers and ladies-in-waiting herald the arrival, by carriage and horseback, of the Disney Princesses. The royal procession makes its way up Main Street, U.S.A. from Town Square to "it's a small world." Once in the ageless land of enchantment -- Fantasyland -- Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and Belle greet their Guests, pose for pictures and make Guests' fairy tale dreams come true every Friday-Sunday through March 2, 2003.

It says through March 2, but I am thinking they will extend it if people like it...they just don't wanna have to keep presenting this because they said they would if people don't like it. Doesn't sound like anything huge, but still kewl...hope it is still there when I go March 15-20, 2003

I hope that WDW follows suit. I think the kids would love seeing the Princesses parading down Main Street.

Well the princesses are already in the Share a Dream Come True parade. So they are able to see it.

Yes, but they're in the Snowglobes. And that is such a beautiful Parade in itself. Do we know exactly how they are being presented in the Disneyland Parade? Are they walking, riding? I would love to see some video footage of it.

Although there is a big push to put the Princess merchendise in the spotlight (SOMETHING needs to help soothe the gaping wound that Pooh is about to give to Disney), it is doubtful that the "parade" will be thrown together at WDW like it has at DLR. The procession is essentially three or four older horsedrawn units (if even that, I haven't seen any pictures of it) that head down Main Street to the old Light Magic performance corridor off to the side of Small World. There they have overhauled an old Pooh meet and greet (serious irony here folks) to be suitable for the princesses. Anyway, the spot was chosen because a shop in the immediate area ("something-Chalet") is basically nothing but Princess junk.

This was also done because the Rivers of America (and by default any attractions that require it, such as Tom Sawyer Island or the Riverboat), Haunted Mansion, Small World, the Matterhorn and the Carousel are all closed down for refurbishment.

In other words, this is just something to tide over the locals that are extremely angry that half of Disneyland is closed down (and don't even mention DCA as an alternative. The only thing that park has been good for lately is for showings of Aladdin. After that everyone goes back to choke the life out of Disneyland). There's nothing really wrong with that at all really, except that the main reason Disney is throwing it is to push Princess crap off the shelves. Depending on how well it works, I would expect this to be extended indefinitely.

I supposs enow that they're taking down the Christmas stuff (the sad consequence of redoing these rides for Christmas). The last parade I saw there didn't seem all that great. The floats looked a bit old, and a bit out of shape.

For a parade, it's actually kinda disappointing. The 4 princesses ride in open horse drawn carriages. The only thing cool about the parade is the horses, they used a number of them.

If you go to watch the parade, the best spot to be, is directly west of the character greeting near Small World. All the princesses exit the carriages there, gather, and all walk up into the greeting area together...
