Maybe you should write up a permission slip and have your mom sign it for you.

:animwink:

I was just going to bring my own ID and my mom's credit card, but I've just found out that they will be at the park during they as well, so we'll just make a visit to Guest Relations and sort this little problem out. :)

This little problem has now made me want to get a credit card. But that means getting a job.

I just use a debit card. But if you aren't 18, you can't get your own anyway.

Just want to put out that by next Wed my reviews of the event will be up. I'm getting three whole nights to explore, and if I'm lucky, get a little startled.

I was not much impressed with horror nights this year . And what is normally the highlight of the whole night (Bill & Ted)...seemed lacking. It really had nothing to do with bill and ted. They seemed to be backup characters in the whole plot. I have to say the best house was Castyle Vampire. Also, I didn't mind the Disorientorium. I thought Deadtroplis was the worst. All in all, it seemed a bit of a disapointment. Me and my buddy always go to Horror nights during its first few runs b/c it seems to be more scarier and risque than towards the end and if this was the scarier time...id hate to see it later this month when it is "watered" down.

When I went, It didn't even seem complete. It was just a bunch of remaining sets from the years before put up very badly. Plus when I went on there was no one in line for it. We walked right in, and let me tell you it is weird to go through a house without ppl to follow. We got lost and ended up going through some backstage area. After wandering around backstage we ran into someone that re-pointed us into the right direction.

Here's my 2 cents..

I went last night, the 9th. We got there at around 9:30 and I did 1 house and bill and teds.

From a fan of HHN, this was by far the worst organized year ever. I know many will disagree but I also think serving liquor and beer is a very bad idea at an event like that as well. I saw so many people that were buzzed beyond themselves causing arguements and fights that it kind of killed the experience.

Another thing is, maybe it was just me but did they sell 1,000,000 tickets for saturday nights, or were the crowds just bigger then they seemed? It took me and my girlfriend, 40 mins to get through the cornfield area becuase everyone kept stopping, at one point you could barely breathe, then finally I saw a lot of workers in polo shirts and headseat rush over with cops and get everything broken up.

I have to say I was beyond disappointed, I have never seen so many unhappy people in my life, and it makes me think twice about ever going back.

Thats why I also go early in the month! It wasn't overly crowded with most waits for houses being at 30min. Everything seemed to move smoothly and there where no problems in my trip except for getting stuck on Mummy!

I went the October 1st and well this was my first time going in all the years they have had it and I was not impressed.I have heard that they chase you all around the park ( with chainsaws ) so I wasnt looking foward to it at all but the only part they chase you is at the cornfield and at the beginning . The only houses we like were the first one ( the one when you first come in because it wasnt crowded when you first get there and we were really scared and didnt know what to expect . The rest of them had long lines and well you could see what was happening to the people up ahead so you just werent scared . the only other one was Castle Vampire that was scary and actually fun ( dance seen because by that time I had drinks in me and I danced with the vampires :D in the dancing scene . I guess the people that I went with and me and my dh are one of the few who actually loved Bill and teds show . Especially the queer guys for the straight guys for us girls that were there :animwink: but other than that we were like this is it we thought it would be more scary and gory from what we have heard in the past

Well, after three straight nights I'm back with my reviews. Since it's a lot of stuff I'm just going to start with the house reviews, and I will add scarezone, Bill and Ted and my feelings on the event overall.

All reviews are graded in for categories. Those for are Creepiness, Scariness, Coolness and Overall. Creepiness regards how foreboding a house or scarezone comes across. Scariness regards the actual scare factor. Coolness regards how unique the area is, or how well the situation is presented, and overall is a final score based on my personal feelings. House reviews will move in a counter-clockwise starting at Disorientorium. Scarezone reviews will start at the Point of Evil, and follow the same rotation.

Houses

Disorientorium-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

Disorientorium fits the style of last year’s Funhouse of Fear. It is an effects house, primarily utilizing illusions that have all been seen before. Ranging from the white and black room, to a hall of mirrors, a repeat visitor can’t help but feel like this house provides the same old song and dance. I’m sure it’s a terrifying experience if your drunk, but sober its just not very good.

Horrors in Wax-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

One of the most promising concepts for this year’s event turns into a major disappointment. Lackluster costumes combined with a difficult to comprehend house comes across as too forced in order to be truly enjoyable.

Ghost Town-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

A unique concept that is effectively pulled off, Ghost Town achieves many aspects that made ScreamHouse such a critical success two years ago. A strong, character-driven storyline, in association with great detailing and phenomenal effects creates a truly immersive environment that is uniquely terrifying, and still amazingly fun. The only house that still had me running out the sixth time through.

Horror Nights Nightmare-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

Combining the most popular mascots of Horror Nights past is such a great concept on paper, that it’s sad how poorly the house actually turned out. It’s easy enough to follow with a concept much like last year’s DrIvE-In, however the detail is lacking, and makes the experience as a whole rather disappointing. The coolest part is just seeing everyback, especially Eddie, and the chainsaws are scary, but it’s not enough to regulate it to above average status.

Deadtropolis-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

Capitalizing on the abundance of zombie films in the last year, Deadtropolis comes in as a surprisingly enjoyable house. It lacks in the detail when compared to the better houses, but it works amazingly well with the effects that they utilize. It may not be amazing scary, but it is a refreshingly good time.

Castle Vampyr-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

Castle Vampyr is the prettiest house this year. A great gothic theme, with bungie scares and a unique style make a house that is at least enjoyable to walk through. However, the scares utilized are cheap and ineffective. However, the style is making it one of the most popular houses this year. Prepare for a long line on this one.

Hellgate Prison-

Creepiness- 1 2 3 4 5
Scariness- 1 2 3 4 5
Coolness- 1 2 3 4 5
Overall- 1 2 3 4 5

A house with a concept that seems tired, but Universal as succeeded in using creates a truly enjoyable experience. The scaractors here have a freedom in their movements that really allows the feeling of chaos to sink in. Allowing them to move freely through a well themed room adds foreboding, and intensifies the experience as a whole.

Thanks for your review. I found it interesting.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure-

In a year of political battles, and lack of any good villian type characters in pop culture, this year's Bill and Ted have created an homage to the past by bringing back former bad guys. Starting with Darth Vader, we discover the kidnapping of Bush and Kerry by Dr. Evil's axis of evil. Dr. Evil, and his presidential running-mate, (a superbly presented Mr. Burns) assemble their cabinent, consisting of the Wicked Witch of the West, evil interns Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie and the Secretary of Child Services, Micheal Jackson. Bill and Ted arrive, and assemble their team of good guys to take down Dr. Evil, including a uniquely funny Garfield, an awesome looking Hellboy and Harry Potter. Included in the cast are the Queer Eye five (with an awesome rendition of "She's My Cherry Pie"), Garfield's wife Catwoman, Clark Kent, the Olsen twins, the Beastie Boys and... of course... William Hung.

The show this year doesn't have as many recent character references has past shows might have, however the dialouge is better than those in the past. Great one-liners ("Bald Kitty, you're fired" comes to mind) carry a show heavy in pseudo-political commentary (Burns at one point calls Kerry the "former next president"). However, it's great fun to see Dr. Evil back, and Mr. Burns is great (although his immitation isn't spot on). It's a really funny show, with enough lines that get under your skin to help you enjoy it. The choreography is great as well. Overall, I feel the show is great.

Side note, I have a lot of pictures. I'll get them developed this week and scanned in this weekend. They'll be up by the end of next week at least.

does anyone know any information about a thing called "stay and scream". I heard it's a waiting area if you arrive early, so you can get a head start on a few houses. Anyone know more?

Stay & Scream is available to Annual Passholders and 1-day/1-park guests with a S&S upgrade on their ticket. You will have to be in the park by closing. At closing time, all S&S guests in IoA will be lead to either the Captain America Diner or Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous, and at USF the holding area will be by Midway of the Bizzare.

If you are at USF, you will be able to experience Horror in Wax (opens at 6pm I believe) and Ghost Town (opens at 6:15pm). I'm not sure about what happens at IoA, but I believe Disorientorium will be open at 6pm. The public will be admitted at 6:30pm.

If you are an annual pass holder, have a HHN ticket, and are at the parks during regular hours you can stay after. The primary holding areas for it this year are Captain America Cafe' and (I believe) Enchanted Oak Tavern. If you do this, peak nights will have all houses open except Deadtropolis (which opens at 8) and HN Nightmares (which opens at 7), while on non-peak nights, it is just Diso and Wax. Note though, with how many things they have going on this year, the Stay and Scream is HIGHLY recommended. You can get two (or more) of your houses out of the way prior to the long lines forming. That is THE ONLY way I got all seven houses, parade and Bill and Ted done last Saturday.

I went last night, 10/13, and while it was crowded, I got most of the houses done before 8:30pm with out doing Stay and Scream. While it would have been better, I don't think that it's crucial on a non peak night. It did get pretty busy around 9-10, with most houses have waits of 30-60 minuets. God bless the express pass.

Stay and Scream isn't nessecary on non-peak nights. However, on peak nights waits can get to over a 130 minutes long, while the shortest wait you may see after 10pm is 70-90 minutes. Believe me, if it's a non-peak night... it ain't crowded.

I'm going on Thursday the 21st (one week from today), and I have an Express Pass. Would S&S really be necessary (I'll be in the park by closing anyways)? I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and stay in or grab some dinner at Margaritaville.
