I shall ben going to WDW on jan 23 for 14 nts, i normally go
may june or july what difference should i expect to find eg
rides closed, parades, firework displays, park times, weather

Reduced park hours, smaller crowds, MK fireworks only once or twice a week, Spectromagic only once or twice a week.
Illuminations still runs every night. Day-time parades still on schedule.
Look on wdwig (http://www.wdwig.com) for refurb schedules. I don't remember anything for the time period your mention, but my memory isn't that good.
Weather is a toss-up. It might be great, it might be 30 degrees. Start looking at weather.com for 10-day forecasts the week or so before you go; you'll see the trends.
