15 years ago this week I was working at the Canadian Pavilion and really hopeful that our new entertainment, a Celtic Rock band called Off Kilter would go over well.

I have a sentimental attachment to this band, not only because I know all the guys (oh the parties at Jamie's house were fun, to say the least) but also because I'm from Nova Scotia and they guys would pick my brain on what songs they might be able to do. I went to a couple of the rehearsals before the band debuted and even went to their big "audition" for the Disney bigwigs to make sure this would be the right fit for the pavilion.

When the band started doing regular shows I would head over to the stage from my little Wood Cart and Jamie would point at me from the audience in one particular song and I got to show off my highland dancing skills. I have such fun memories there.

Another piece of trivia you may not know, Randy (lead guitar and former member of Frankie & the West End Boys from Pleasure Island) ended up marrying my friend and fellow Canadian Pavilion CM. Yes, romance crosses the borders (of US and Canada AND of Merch CM and Entertainment CM) at the Canadian Pavilion.

Jamie and Mark and the rest of the band really made the Canadian Pavilion a great place to stop for entertainment and I'm sure there are many people that would pass us by if it weren't for the great sounds coming from the stage. On Sunday (Canada Day) they will be celebrating 15 years of shows at Epcot.

So what's your favourite entertainment in Disney?

My dad LOVES Off Kilter. He makes it a point of watching them perform every trip. It's one of his favorite things about EPCOT.

We love Off Kilter! We make sure that we take in at least one show per visit but ususally try for more. I always have to stop when Mo'roccin and the resident bellydancer is going to perform. We also love to see the acrobats in China and the drumming in Japan. In all actuality, I think that EPCOT has become our favorite park. Yes, the MK will always hold a place near and dear to my heart, but we do spend a great deal of time at EPCOT.
SO ... with all that being said, a very happy 15th Birthday to Off Kilter we love your music!

I'm ashamed to say I've never seen them perform but will give them a go in September when we visit. Until the last few months (after reading it on here) I never knew that the China pavillion had an acrobatics show either, even though Mrs M drags me through the shop there and we often eat there .

Have to say my favourite performers are the streetmosphere characters at DHS, they never fail to have me laughing no matter how many times I see them. A few years back I remember them 'improvising' whilst talking about Mexicans. They were coming out with stuff like "We love the Mexicans so much we've built 'Welcome Centres' on our borders and we say "Welcome and come on in and shine lights on them at night so they don't trip over when we greet them". I'm sure is was unscripted and when one of them spotted a guy filming them he said "Oh great, this guy has just recorded that, there goes our paycheck! Do you think Sea World are hiring?" Another replied "When this hits youtube, I think we're probably unemployable" :D

Happy birthday, Off Kilter!

Some of my favorite forms of entertainment at Walt Disney World are the Citizens of Hollywood, Off Kilter, British Invasion, DiVine, and Guitar Dan.

I make trips to EPCOT specifically for Off Kilter and Voices of Liberty on a fairly regular basis. That reminds me, I haven't been over in a few weeks...need to rectify that soon!

Off Kilter are very good and a definite part of my day when I visit Epcot. Be sure to let the guys know that I consider them honorary Scots. The skirl of the pipes certainly adds to the worldly feel of the place and puts a smile on the face of this Scotsman.

Off Kilter is in fact Bad A$$, but my favorite is at DHS. Citizens of Hollywood are so funny. Melvin McCheesmo had my 10 year old son with coke coming from his nose, he was hilarious. I heard he left the act?

I think the British Revolution are great, much better than the previous Beatles tribute band whose name slips my memory. They always perform a good mix of music and the crowd are right behind them.
(Oh it was British Invasion)

Voices of Liberty will always be my favorite... but British Revolution and Off Kilter are close seconds. Back in the day I used to really love the Olde Globe Theater Players too.
