Off Kilter turns 15 - What's your favourite Disney Entertainment?

15 years ago this week I was working at the Canadian Pavilion and really hopeful that our new entertainment, a Celtic Rock band called Off Kilter would go over well.

I have a sentimental attachment to this band, not only because I know all the guys (oh the parties at Jamie's house were fun, to say the least) but also because I'm from Nova Scotia and they guys would pick my brain on what songs they might be able to do. I went to a couple of the rehearsals before the band debuted and even went to their big "audition" for the Disney bigwigs to make sure this would be the right fit for the pavilion.

When the band started doing regular shows I would head over to the stage from my little Wood Cart and Jamie would point at me from the audience in one particular song and I got to show off my highland dancing skills. I have such fun memories there.

Another piece of trivia you may not know, Randy (lead guitar and former member of Frankie & the West End Boys from Pleasure Island) ended up marrying my friend and fellow Canadian Pavilion CM. Yes, romance crosses the borders (of US and Canada AND of Merch CM and Entertainment CM) at the Canadian Pavilion.

Jamie and Mark and the rest of the band really made the Canadian Pavilion a great place to stop for entertainment and I'm sure there are many people that would pass us by if it weren't for the great sounds coming from the stage. On Sunday (Canada Day) they will be celebrating 15 years of shows at Epcot.

So what's your favourite entertainment in Disney?

So do you know "Mr. Bob"? He was active in recruiting Off Kilter to EPCOT. He's a pretty awesome person and I love Off Kilter. I try and catch at least one show every trip. They are a very unique type of band with the inclusion of the bagpipes.

I don't recall knowing a "Mr. Bob" while I was there. Jamie from Off Kilter already worked in the pavilion playing bagpipes before Off Kilter was formed so I was friends with him and later I was good friends with Mark when Off Kilter began. I did meet some of the people that he had to audition the band for in the beginning but don't really remember any of them.
