Odyssey & Microsoft Rumor?

I heard awhile back on here that Microsoft and Disney were in talks of having them sponsor a new restaurant where the Odyssey now stands and have their Microsoft "Surface" tables as the main attraction.

Have we heard any additional info on this or was it just pipe-dreaming. I've seen these tables in action and they could definitely be used as a dining table and with the fact that it integrates RFID and from what I gather disney is investing close to a billion dollars in this for the parks it could prove to be an awesome way to showcase that especially in EPCOT.

The company I work for uses these tables in some of their higher profile stores and they can be customized for practicality anything.

If you havent had the chance to see these things in action, i highly suggest a YouTube search for Microsoft "Surface" Demo.

Isn't there something like this in Innoventions? I seem to remember a table with Autumn leaves that could be moved by touching the table top.

This was outside the House of Innoventions in the little queue area. I believe they closed this attraction though, so I don't know if it's still there.

Got to see one those MS-Tables in the Microsoft Atlanta (actually Alpharetta) office. Sign up for a free Hyper-V seminar and you might see it. They are SWEET!

You know, I find the pretty much wasted Odyssey building really sad. Even when I was little I would ask my mom "What's that place? I want to eat there." And sadly, you cannot :(. It seems like such a prime spot for a restaurant. A seafood restaurant specifically. I realize they already have the Coral Reef, but they should turn the Odyssey into a top of the line seafood restaurant (and I mean like crab legs and lobster and that kind of thing). And if not, at least something...

It is not wasted in Disney's eyes. It brings in quite a bit of coin as a special events building.

I believe the project was put on ice.

Just because you can't eat there doesn't mean others aren't.
