Hey (First Post),

I am off to WDW on October 13th for 10 Days and wondered if there
would be much of an upturn in crowd levels due to it being close to
the witching hour, lol. :fork: I mean do the parks get at all busy two weeks
before a Haloween weekend or will the wait times be like September?.
Which Is when I usually go, and its 'dead' quiet.
Also should I be on the look out for an US holiday dates in October?

I'm not an impatient person by the way, lol But I am taking the old
folks on a trip this year and my dad waiting in line for an hour puts
the fear in me:ROFLOL:

First off, welcome to the WDWMagic boards.

I too am planning an October trip to Disneyworld, but I have never been to WDW in October, just September.

As far as I can tell and have read in the past on this section of the board, there is a slight downturn in attendance since American kids have gone back to school. I am not too sure what the drop size is since it has been a while for me since I visited WDW (late August 1993).

I'm in the planning stages now, considering a weekend trip, wrapped around a few week days, or a whole seven-day thing.

I do plan on taking in Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, the when that even runs on certain evenings at the Magic Kingdom, it's a separate entrance fee. You can get the low-down here on this site --

I'm starting to think EVERYONE on these boards is going in October lol..We go the 9-14th

There are some US schools (from the south) with breaks in October.

Hey, BufordT, Wife and I have been down to WDW every Halloween week since 02 and have never really seen big crowds. Don't forget that weekends are always more crowded no matter when you go. Not much going on for halloween at the world except for MNSSHP.

:sohappy: lol we also have a trip planned oct 7 thru 14. we usually go early oct every year because as mentioned our kids are in fall break.the crowds are not horrible but usually not walkon either. i think it has more to do with the food and wine fest more than anything else. weekends are also worse than weekdays.our wait times are around 20 mins. max. see yall in october.:sohappy:

Welcome!

I have taken my 80-year-young Dad to WDW in October for the last two years! The weather is great, the parks are decorated for Halloween, but we've never felt rushed or crowded at all - and that's even with Dad in the PCV (tough to maneuver).

Have a great time!

I can't say from experience, but from reading things, September and October generally have pretty low attendance. I'm sure the week of Halloween is probably pretty busy. I don't think things get busy after Summer until near Thanksgiving.
