Hi there.I need to pick your brains and thought asking the experts is always the best place to start.
I have been a regular visitor since 1989 when I stayed at the Disney Inn and knew I had found a small piece of Heaven. This year after gettin stuck in the uk with an ash cloud I had to totally re-organise my holiday and will now be there in October.
October is a month I have never visited the parks in,I'm there from the 11th till the 20th.What can I expect?Weather?Crowds?Waits?
Any help would be wonderful.

October is a good time to visit - we were there end of October/beginning of November last year. Weather is still warm, but not nearly as warm as summertime. You can expect daytime temps anywhere from 60 to 80F. Crowds aren't bad - mostly medium to light during the weekdays, but heavier if there is a Halloween party or at the Food and Wine Festival. The F&W is a good time and definitely worth spending some time at. Your wait times on the big rides might be an hour, but if you go by later in the evening or early morning, you'll be able to walk on most attractions.

Overall the fall is a great time to visit WDW, I think you'll be happy you went then!

October is a great time to visit WDW.
The crowds are light. Half the time, I barely utilise fastpass.
The weather is still very warm, but not as bad as summer. I don't know when you usually visit.
If you like Halloween, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is quite enjoyable. It is a hard ticket event, but it has been well worth the cost for me.
If you are staying at a Disney Resort, free dining is in full swing, so the restaurants are very crowded. I hope you have your ADRs already. The QS restaurants are equally crowded, so try not to eat lunch at noon.
Enjoy your trip!

As said above ^^^^ WDW and Central Florida in October is a nice time to visit. Hurricane / tropical systems are still active, so observe weather conditions before you leave and while you are in Orlando.

Fortunate it rose to 90F in mid-October in 2007 when I visited, but second half of trip, the temps sunk into the low-mid 70s near 80F. Drop in humidity too. It all depends on the weather patterns.

Crowd levels are smaller Monday - Wednesday but increase as the week moves on. Definite walk-ons at Universal and SeaWorld, and some Disney parks, depending on week day. Halloween party evenings at the Magic Kingdom are fun, pretty popular, and the next morning the Magic Kingdom attendance can be lighter than normal due to the party previous night.

Pack shorts, t-shirts, a sweatshirt and a rain poncho or windbreaker with a cover, just in case it still rains (heavily I might add, or a constant sprinkle).

Although it's fall season in October, it's still summer in Orlando.

Enjoy!
