October Availability

Anyone have any insight into why 10/22-10/29 seems to be booked up for Deluxe resorts and villas? 2 options, 2 adults/2 children in a regular room or Studio. Or 4 adults and 2 children in a 2 bedroom villa. No 2 bedrooms available at Beach Club, Boardwalk, or Bay Lake. No regular rooms avail in Contemporary at all for the week. Any thoughts for what should be a down time? Touring Plans has their crowd calendar at 1's and 2's most of the week.

2 kids are under 2 so want to try Bay Lake or Contemporary for easy access to MK. I'll call Disney but wanted to see if anyone heard anything.

It's not unusual to see the Villa properties to be full - Halloween and Food and Wine are both good reasons for that!

Bay Lake is the newest Villa property, and as you know, in a prime location. It is in extremely high demand and it books up fast and early!

The Contemporary is the least expensive of the Monorail properties - so again, it is usually the first of the monorail resorts to fill up.

both Mickey Not So Scary Halloween and Food & Wine both run right through October I know you have youngsters but WDW transportation is good at times why not try a bigger resort like Old Key West or Saratoga Springs there still only 10-20 minuets away from all the parks by bus

How does Wilderness Lodge look? We stay there and the boat ride to MK is way quicker than monorail. IMHO, WL is the most convenient resort on property.

Thanks for the replies. I would do WL but wife isn't thrilled with the decor. Saratoga and OKW are a little far from MK for us. We don't do a car rental. Beach Club is our fave by far but we were there in Dec with our then only child (1 yr old) and it was clear it is not like going without kids. So the thought was Bay Lake Tower for the ability to walk to MK plus we like the decor there.

I haven't tried to book a trip this close to the arrival so that may be the reason why I'm surprised to see the lack of options. Got a 2 BR at Beach Club for Dec 2010 back in Feb 2010 I believe.

Right now, a lot of the rooms (non-villa) at the CR are being held back for conventions; October is the biggest convention month at WDW. When those don't book, they'll gradually be released. I was looking at that time too. Two-bedroom villas are just impossible to get unless you book way ahead, unfortunately.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

I called yesterday and the agent found a week at Beach Club in 2 bedroom. I reserved it but now have to decide if we are actually going. Agent was very friendly and helpful. Goes to show, always call if you don't see something online.
