Just booked 9/25-10/2 at The Grand Floridian. Got a nice deluxe room discount for the current Aug-Sept promo. Super excited to be there on the 40th anniversary. First time for me being there on 10/1. I went during the 15th, 20th, and 25th anniversary celebrations as a kid.

Now all we need is some official word on 40th celebration on 10/1. Either way, I'll be at the MK gate when it opens that day. I'm sure if they don't do anything we can still count on Touring Plans, Lou Mongello, AllEars, BetaMouse, or another fan group to put together a celebration.

While nothing has officially been confirmed on Disney's end there is at least one fan group planning a celebration of their own (while working with Disney) in the works. :animwink:

You are more than welcome to join us!

Thanks for the link. I'll have the family and in-laws with so I can't do a full blown event like that but I'll keep my eye out for the group on 10/1. I wonder how the crowds will be that week because historically they are low.

We will be there then. I have not been on the anniversary since the 25th. We plan on hanging out most of the day at the Polynesian because I have been told they are going to have some big celebration with dancers and some surprises.

Have you heard about anything going on at the park? You have to figure they will do a redication ceremony in the morning. Interesting about the Poly, I'll have to check that out during the day if time allows since I'll be 1 monorail/boat stop away.

We were there in Dec with pregnancy #2. Was surprised at how tough it was for my wife. Plus we had a 1 year old at the time and it was super cold. Still...a "bad" day in Disney is better then a good day at home/work. Seeing the Christmas decorations was priceless.

That's easy...solo trip! If you are 25 and not tied down to anything/anyone...go for it before you can't anymore!!!
