Has anyone been following news about DisneyNature's second release, Oceans?

Just read this about their "See Oceans. Save Oceans" plan - pretty cool if you ask me.

more details...

Last year the folks at Disneynature brought us the spectacular film, "Earth," on Earth Day. This year the studio releases "Oceans," a chronicle of the mysterious depths in five of the world's oceans, showing in theaters on April 22, Earth Day 2010. Narrated by Pierce Brosnan and directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, it captured imagery with the newest underwater technology. Instead of planting trees for everyone who sees it opening week, Disneynature will make a contribution to The Nature Conservancy to save coral reefs in honor of every guest. The trailer provides a glimpse of the amazing footage.

Wanted to add that Pierce Brosnan is narrating the film - I know most people think of him as James Bond, but he gives back in a lot of cool ways beyond his acting career. His voice over plus the Cousteaus involvement are all good signs in my opinion.

it wasn't good.. IT WAS GREAT.. . a fantastic movie.. many many times we both said.. OH MY GOSH.. beyond belief...

I saw it and thought that it was a really good movie, but I've also seen each of the IMAX movies such as "Deep Sea", "Under the Sea", etc and at times really thought that I was looking at footage borrowed from one of those films. Even my girlfriend made a comment that she thought we'd seen some of the stuff before.

Good movie though.

It's actually all new footage. But I can see how some of it might be reminiscent of another documentary.

Did you hear about how the See Oceans, Save Oceans initiative turned out? Just heard today that they ended up protecting 35,000 acres from the opening week ticket sales - so good job catching an early showing!!
