Hey gang,
I just got back from the World yesterday for a short babymoon. Here are a few short observations. The GFV are nice. We stayed in a studio right next to the monorail and we couldn't hear it as it passed by. The room was great and still smelled new. The rooms are so much more updated than say Boardwalk. More on that in a minute.
We saw "The Middle" being filmed on Monday. They were filming at the hub and then later out front just past the turnstiles in front of the train station. The moat looks odd without water but some of the pathways are coming along. The Starbucks on Main Street is actually well done. I was expecting it to be all in your face Starbucks, but I was pleasantly surprised.
FP+ wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Like most others, we don't like having to schedule our rides so far in advance and the one park for FP was kind of restricting. The nice thing about the magic bands is being able to resort hop and the security hosts will just scan your band as opposed to asking for picture ID.
We also stayed at Boardwalk for a few nights and it's amazing how much older the rooms feel compared to GFV. I know it's newer, but still. The room just seemed darker and the bed was slightly saggy. If anyone is going there soon and hasn't stayed there, ask for a room closest to the elevators. We stayed in room 1136 and it is the furthest walk at the end of the hall. It is the last room on the end. It takes 2 minutes and 40 seconds. It seems like a lot.
Lastly, Earl of Sandwich was packed. The line was out the side door and almost wrapped back around to the front. The new garage facility needs to get done soon as parking by Casting, while not full, is a pain to walk across. Overall, not a bad trip, I can see the decline over the years.
Lastly, a favor to ask of any of you guys out there. I'm taking part in a 200+ mile 3 day bike ride with proceeds going to the families of fallen law enforcement officers. If you would like to help out and donate, please send me a pm so I can send you a link. I'm looking forward to your comments and possibly your help.
