The weather has finally warmed up down here, it is high 70s. The marathon crowds have arrived and it is packed everywhere.

I am staying at sports. I normally enjoy staying on Disney property, however, having a time share at the Marriott Grande vista by sea world, I am all too spoiled by space. While I appreciate the 24 hour magic aspect, the amenaties are terrible. Where are the tv stations, half of them are Disney, a large percentage are religious or international. At my timeshare, I have satelittle. There is no internet, I have free internet there. And the room is cramped and I hear crying babies and toilets flushing all night. At my timeshare, I have a a kingsize townhome with everything I could possibly want. And i realize i would rather have a car. I appreciate the aspect of sit back and let them do the driving, but i need my freedom. The fact that i am spending $10 on a burger at sports when i could drive to a fast food place and get alot more food for half the price. And the portions are terrible, 10 French fries per platter?

Nonetheless, i love Disney hotels but i realize, i have out grown them. My timeshare is where i belong where i can escape the Disney magic and actually be on vacation and relax in my whirlpool that is my room or participate in spa treatments that are not even a quarter the price of Disney.

I have decided i will not return to Disney until spring 2013. This will allow the proposed new attractions to be open. But Disney seems dry this trip. It all seems so manufactured. Less magic and more about treating guests like a number ( get you in and get you out). I am not renewing my annual pass for this reason. And with further rumours about xpass and making their higher end clientale VIP, i am good on Disney.

I know i am alone in my thinking but it is what it will be. I love Disney but i will not pay all this money for a dry, uninviting experience.

I'm sorry that WDW seems so blah to you. Perhaps some time away will help things to seem more fresh the next time you go. As to the resorts, you've got to go where you're happy, and it is certain that not every place is suited to every need. Go to the place that makes your vacation more pleasurable.
BTW- I don't mean to embarrass you in pointing this out, but I think you might have meant to say "prophesy" in your title.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Good for you! If you want better conditions let 'em know! I know one person makes little difference, but if everyone blindly loved WDW regardless of the value, they'd have NO hesitation in screwing us all over!

I did, lol. I am using my cell phone so auto correct is no good. But the just is understood.

I love wdw, I just would prefer to stay off property. I have outgrown Disney resorts. Plus I am hoping for spectromagic to return in 2013.

Have you ever stayed at a Disney resort outside of the value range? I have stayed in timeshares as well and have found the Disney ones to be on the same level just at a higher price point but much better upkeep. We stayed at the Marriott ones last New Years Eve by the Marriott World Center and found them to be kinda run down compared to the Disney ones.

You'd think with a user name "Disney4life2008" the passion would've lasted more than 4 years...

BTW... Proficy.... I don't think that word means what you think it means.

good for you! i hate when people talk about declined quality but keep giving money to the mouse. i know on my next trip i will be staying off property and 1, day at UNI studios, 1day islands of adventure. and 1 day at MK/HS and 1 day at seaworld. now previously i would have spent all four days at disney parks and stayed on disney property.

I completely agree, disney hotels are extremely overpriced for the value you get. Seriously for $400 a night at the polynesian I excpect mickey himself to come tuck me in at the end of the night.

We usually stay offsite as well, as there are so many hotels off property that do it better than disney, free wi-fi, free breakfast, bigger rooms, more bang for your buck.

Having said that, Me and my family literally just paid $300 to stay at the contemporary for one night next weekend. Is it expensive? heck yea! granted we would never throw so much money away on a hotel, especially for one night, but being that our passes are going to expire on the 15th, and the fact that we couldnt find any of the rooms we wanted that fit 5 ppl off-site. We just figured lets make a nice memory out of this last trip.

Totally agree about outgrowing Disney hotels. I just don't see the need anymore.

Example: I'm going up for two nights next week. Staying in a four-star resort off property which features great rooms (see photo), pools, spa, fitness center, free wireless internet, multiple resturants, 24-hr market, etc. for a whopping $71/night. Why would I ever want to stay at an All-Star again?

The Rosen Shingle Creek Resort. Great deal from Hotwire.

Wow! Great Deal, I have only heard great things about that hotel. And very easy access also. Right off the Beachline Expressway(528) on Universal Blvd. It is very convenient to Sea World, I-Drive, and Universal areas. Easy access to I-4 also for Disney.

My thoughts exactly. Such things have caused me to swear off Disney's values and moderates.
