Which park is the place to be on NYE? I’m getting conflicting info. Disney reservations is saying MK and concierge at AKL is saying EPCOT.

Need advice as I want to plan accordingly. TIA!

The best park on NYE is not going at all, imo.

On a serious note, MK usually hits capacity by mid-day. I’ve gone twice to Epcot and it’s at least somewhat bearable. Just go in expecting an insane amount of people and keep your expectations low.

If you are looking for a party atmosphere - dance venues, drink, and a great firework show - Epcot without question.

If you are looking for an extremely busy regular park day with a great firework show - MK.

I follow an account on Twitter called @EpcotNYE and they live tweeted the entire day/night last NYE. It seemed crazy busy, but also a lot of fun. You could do a ton of great people watching while consuming alcohol in WDW on NYE; to ME, that sounds like a fantastic day/evening.

MK does a complete run through of NYE fireworks celebrations on the 30th, including the early one for families. All but the special finale that is.....

So a lot of people do MK on the 30th and then Epcot on NYE.

If you manage your expectations - and your plans - right (i.e., don't plan on actually riding more than the three FP+ you can book, and lock in an off-peak ADR), Epcot is a ton of fun on NYE. We did it a couple years back, and it's the only park I'd want to be at. There are plenty of places, especially back in some of the WS pavilions, to escape the crowds for a while, and the non-stop entertainment and party atmosphere had us (generally) smiling the entire time.

Until they started handing out the noisemakers, that is... :banghead:

Epcot is boring. But as others have said if you like parties, drinks, alcoholics it's the place to be.

I prefer magic Kingdom. But it will be beyond packed and at capacity.

MK is a bear on NYE. It hits capacity early so you need to be there all day. We went early one year and my Mom's husband was going to go back to the room to nap and they warned him at the gate that if he left the park he may not be able to get back in (this was around noon). The line for POTC was 2.5 hours and don't get me started on how long it took to get back to the MK parking lot after the park closed. I'm glad we at least did it once but never again.

I've heard EPCOT is not as bad since the park is so much bigger. I would tend to think EPCOT might be a bit more "rowdy" than MK.
