My sister and her husband have 3 small kids from about 2 through to 6 and I wondered if she could get away with all of them in 1 room at a disney resort they dont mind it being a bit tight for space and are not keen on getting another room for them. Any answers guys

Most Disney rooms will accommodate 4 people plus one child under 3, so it sounds like they'll be good. They could also consider a room at Port Orleans Riverside, which sleeps 5 with a trundle bed.

The above poster is correct. I think they would be smart to try for a moderate if they can since there is a little more space in the rooms. POR with the trundle would be ideal! We have neighbors with three kids who stayed there when the kids were even older, and they loved it.

POR allows for 5
Your other economy option is at some All Star, suites are offered that would give you more room for about the same price.

Most deluxe capacity is 5 (except WL & AKL), all offer suites, but cost is significantly higher.

Thanks Guys Did your freinds not get in trouble for having too many people in a room?
The first child under 3 does not count against the room occupancy so you would not need to fib or fudge your way into a room with a capacity of 4. The resort will also provide a pack n play crib for you at no charge as well.

We stayed at all star music with three young children... the youngest was 1... and she just slept in the pack in play.... since as others have said.. she was under 3 it was allowed... and worked out great... we were hardly in the room and budget was more important than space.

This time we will be at CBR because of discounts made it affordable...the one year old is now almost three... we're bringing an air mattress for her... and the rooms a larger there so we get that little more space.

We figure we'd try CBR now since our next trip we have no more under 3 and POR will be our only option without going deluxe.... so trundle 5 room will be next for us.

In terms of space, all of the rooms at Port Orleans seem to be the same size, although the only section that officially allows 5 people in a room is the Bayou section, which has trundle beds. My guess is that Disney uses this to get more people in the Bayou - My preference is certainly for the French Quarter, or the Mansions. So anywhere are Port Orleans should be fine with the baby.

The Contemporary and Poly also allow 5 people in the standard rooms, since they are larger than most other standard rooms on property.

We've also stayed at the Family Suites, and the upside was the small kitchen. Having 2 TVs was also helpful, for someone who gets tired of the Disney Channel, as was the extra space, much more than in a standard room. And 2 bathrooms.

Please let me know if I got any details wrong. It might help us on our next trip.

The rooms at all the moderates are 314 square feet (54 square feet larger than the rooms at the values). They also have 2 sinks vs the one at the values. As to why only the rooms in the Alligator Bayou section have the trundle beds I have no clue as the floor plans are all but identical for all 4 moderate resorts. It could be as simple as Disney knowing roughly how many parties of 5 will be staying at the moderate resorts and concentrating them all in one area at one resort to make it easier on the housekeeping staff.

Caribbean Beach, the first moderate, has rooms at 340 sq feet, larger than all other moderates, and only 4sqft smaller than both WL and AKL.

I always thought it would make sense to put in a trundle bed or something else to easily accomodate a 5th Guest in a room.

Disney's TA site actually lists them at 300 square feet post refurb.

I too don't get the 5th guest situation either. There should be some kind of roll away option at all the moderates.

I've stayed at CBR over a dozen times, both pre and post several refurbs. I'm not sure where the rooms lost any square footage? If anything, the removal of the "pay for a snack" bar in the late 90s added extra space to the room.

Wonder why their TA Website only says 300, not even 314, but really 340?

It all depends on how they calculate it. Even something as simple as measuring inside of walls vs. outside of walls can take off as much as a square foot for every linear foot of wall.
