Just returned from our week-long trip and I now have a serious case of after Disney blues. With no future trip in sight, what can I do to make it better? Part of me thinks I should take a break from the Disney web sites so I don't get so reved up. The other part of me thinks I should start trying to plant things in my husband's head so we can plan another trip before the "We're not going again for two years this time" time frame. :(

My mom and I normally visit every 2 years and that doesn't stop us from planning our next trip the minute we get home. So I say start planning!:D

I've done the "Not going to the web sites" thing and somehow it makes it worse. I want to know what's going on, what's changing, and when friends ask me Disney stuff I want to be able to give correct information.

It's tough coming back and not knowing when you might return to the magic. Just hang in there. You've got a lot of friends and sympathetic folks on these boards to help you through!

Yea the week after a Disney trip stinks. Thoughts start creeping into your head like "Maybe I can move down there....":ROFLOL:

It goes away after a week or two. I agree with other posters, keep browsing the sites as avoiding it isnt going to help!

sorry to hear your suffering! i do hope you had a great time would love any crowd info or anything you care to share as we leave in 1 week!

thanks
remember the magic!:)

last year we also said, we are not going for two years to save a little money. We made it past the one year mark, but then the government decided to pay for our trip this summer. So maybe after this August, we wont go for two years.........we havent made it the 2 years in 6 years, although we do always talk a good talk. The kids just get so convincing though, yeah we go for the kids, really we do.
Disney Withdrawl Syndrom, should really be looked at by the the mental health care industry as a real phsychological condition.

That is the worst feeling. Coming home from the World. After we got back this past November, I didn't visit any sites until a few weeks ago. I wasn't even on here!!! But the last few months flew by. Now we are planning our November trip again, and I can't stop thinking about it, I can't stop emailing KK, and I'm alwayssss on here! Now I gotta sit and wait out 229 days till our next visit... :snore:

It's a little easier getting over the disney blues when you have a trip planned and coming up. But when nothing is planned you just wanna cry!!

We are 170ish days away from our next trip after having to cancel our February trip. Planning the next trip always helps even if it is a long way away.
Work on a scrapbook that is always fun for me, I just get them done too quick! :hammer:
I do themed character cakes and most of what I end up doing is Disney so that helps too. :ROFLOL:

It takes me about 2-4 weeks to get over the Disney Blues. After that I just cry myself to sleep.
:lol: I still have the disney blues and my last visit was in july... :lookaroun :) But for my first few weeks home i put my pics in my photo album and this definitely helps!!!

Oh, yes. We all know the Dis Blues all too well. NOT fun. Everytime we go we plan and even search out houses in Orlando. Then we come back down to reality and that diminishes.

I have to say that having a trip in the works helps. With no trip in site, no countdown near, it makes it worse.

Keep watching Disney movies, hearing the music and hangin' on here. (The Disney commercials will make it worse so steer clear of the TV)

Ugh, I feel your pain. Our last trip was over Christmas, so that made the Disney blues even worse than normal! It takes me a good 2-3 weeks to get over the depression. But I've found that starting to plan the next trip always helps!

I was there last week, and felt the same way on our long road trip home. I am sad when I'm not planning a Disney trip.

My fiance and I were planning a Bahamas honeymoon, and decided that we can't go so long w/out a Disney trip so we added 3 days onto our honeymoon so we could go to Disney first.

Maybe you could go out for a long weekend? Head down at Christmas or Halloween to see some of the special holiday things they do? Take a Disney tour you haven't done yet? Eat at new restaurants?

See, there's plenty of things to research far in advance! It'll keep you looking forward to something, and keep the magic alive =)

We got back home on the 16th of Feburary and I`m still bummed out. We know we`re going next year, just not sure exactly when. It was just my wife and I this past time but next time we are taking our 5 year old DGD. I`m pretty excited about planning this one. When she comes to our house it`s all disney for her. I`m teaching her all the characters right now.
