Yes
Well it’s busy. Parking lot at the TTC was pretty full. We parked in the last row of Rapunzel. Security was fast at the TTC for no bags ;). Three ferry boats are running. Monorail station was packed to the bottom and they were also using busses. Headed into the park now.

1. WDW's popularity. The number of people keeps growing year after year for decades. The parks are getting more guests than they were designed to handle.
2. To combat overcrowding at peak times (Spring Break, Summer, Christmas), WDW has enticed people to move away from the peak times to the non-peak times by:
A) Raising prices overall.
B) This past year: surge pricing. Peak times cost more. Off-peak costs less.
C) Discounts and deals for the off-peak times.
D) Special events for the off-peak: Epcot festivals, Halloween parties, Christmas parties between Thanksgiving and Christmas week)
E) More conventions and sporting events year round

Figured it out, we went for MLK Day this time, 3 years ago we went 2 weeks after. Being a Canadian, was blinded by low resort prices meaning it was slow not knowing about the holiday because we don't have it here.

We had the exact same experience, 3 years ago it was quiet, this year it was like high season! What gives?

Wow..could not believe how busy it was today at MK. This is the first time we have been here in January for about 3 yrs, but back then it was great, while today was like June. Had a great meal at Columbia Harbor house, rode the big Paddleboat and left for HS. Very busy everywhere, but had a great day. Heading to Boardwalk in a bit.

So, here were are at MK entrance. Been waiting at back check for 11 minutes. Why? Not because they like you. Because they have ONE freaking metal detector working...everyone is funneled into one lane.

MK hub was packed for HEA. There is now a wall of people trying to go from the hub to the TL and FL spokes and at the same time masses on those Spokes trying to get to the hub. Gridlock has been achieved:)

Hey, remember when they took the spittting camel from the Aladdin spinner and it was the worse thing in the world?

The camel is there, spitting, and turning its head.
