November crowds

I'm off to WDW (hopefully) in November staying at The Swan for 10 nights .We normally go early in May ,so my question is what part of November would be the best time to go crowd wise ;or would late October be a better bet. Any advice would be highly appreciated !

If your trip is long enough for you to straddle both end of October and first of November, you could do Halloween and Christmas the same trip. I would get the events calendar to see when the Christmas lights are up and the Christmas party starts. Otherwise, try to stay away from the week of Thanksgiving.

Thanks LAkid.I actually stayed that time of year at The Grand Floridian about 20 years ago ,the crowds were really light ,but it's obviously a different story now

We went last year in November from 6th - 22nd November, and wait times was about 20 minutes for most rides except toy story mania which was always over a hour wait, we stayed on property and booked the fast pass plus ride times but rarely needed them.

We even rode Everest 4 times in about half a hour due to no wait times!

Great time to visit to see all the Christmas decorations and definitey worth seeing the osbourne lights!

We've been the first week of November and the crowds were not bad at all. Also been after Thanksgiving into the first week of December and the same.

November is the time we always go to WDW... last year we were there Nov 6-12th and had a great time.. it was F&W so Epcot was a little crowded but other than that, the crowds were very light. This year we are going Nov 12-18th, and it is also a good time to go crowds wise. It starts to pick up and get heavy the weekend before Thanksgiving week. You will notice a big difference in wait times for almost everything! Otherwise, November will always be my favorite time to visit and we always get lucky with nearly perfect weather too!

We were going to book Nov2-Nov9 2014, but read it was less crowded Nov9-Nov16. I don't know if this is true, but would love to see Christmas decorations. Surprising my granddaughter who will be 5 Nov9. She is going to be thrilled since she has been talking about Disney for years! She makes me show her Disney videos, but seems to be more interested in the Princesses, so we will spend most of our time at MK. Mom cant wait either since she has never been, also a BD (October 18) gift to her. Im sure we will have fun no matter the time of year.

Osborne lights starts on Nov. 7th, same day as the first Christmas Party so MK will be fully transformed for Christmas then. Resort decorations go up a little later so to really enjoy the Christmas atmosphere you'd have to be there around the 15th.

Good luck with your plans and if you decide on dates you'll most likely run into each other somewhere, we'll be there from November 9th to the 21st.

Thank you for that information! I think we might need to add on some more days!!

We went in November a couple years ago and everyone warned me about "Jersey Week". I didn't really think much of it, and the first half of our trip there was a very low crowd. But, the 2nd half of the trip, it was pretty packed. Not summer crowd levels, but still much different than what we had dealt with earlier in the vacation. I think Jersey week is usually the 2nd week of November.

We went in November in both 2012 and 2013, and the crowds weren't horrible.

2012: we stayed Nov 1-9, and had low crowds the entire time. We left just before the Wine and Dine Marathon Weekend happened.

2013: we stayed Nov 6-12, to participate in the Wine and Dine races. Crowds weren't horrible, but there we're definitely more people because of the race weekend and "Jersey Week" in full swing.

We are from New Jersey and I would highly recommend staying away from Disney the first week of November. We made that mistake once thinking it was good cause kids only missed 3 days of school. NJ Teacher's Convention is November 6th and 7th this year. We went right after the convention in 2010 and still caught the end of the Food and Wine Festival. It was great!

I notice your dates start during the week. Any benefit to doing that over Nov 9-16 which is Sunday to Sunday?
