Nov Trip-Double Stroller

We have our Nov trip planned, 11/4-11/11. We are staying at Caribbean Beach, myself, husband and 2 kids( 4 yo girl, 1 yo girl) in one room, and my dad in another. This is our first trip with both kids, and need a double stroller. In the past have rented the City Mini but would obviously need the double one this time. I was looking for something alittle smaller/easier to get on and off the bus, any suggestions?

Have you considered two umbrella strollers? They'd make it easier to split up if you needed to, being that there's two kids and three adults. The older one could stay for fireworks and the younger one could go back to the room, for example. Or vice versa.

You could also consider getting a city mini for the little one and letting the older one ride when needed (while carrying the 1yo).
Our last trip our DS was 4. He walked a lot of the time, but we rented a Disney stroller half way through the trip for our AK day. He needed the rest.
I’m not sure what other double stroller options exist. You could do the city mini and an umbrella stroller. One good comfortable stroller and one light and easy to manage stroller.

We used a Peg Perego Aria stroller twin that was a side-by-side. It was light weight and very easy to push. It had good storage underneath and we loved using S-hooks to hang bags and things off the handle. It collapsed great and was easy to board the buses with it. We used the city mini double and had no issues. It folded up in half and the hubs had no issues toting it on and off the busses.

I'd tell you to consider a sit and stand. I have a 3 1/2 and a 1 year old. We just used it for a weekend trip to silver dollar city in Branson and it was perfect. It allowed my older one to ride when he was tired but also was able to get up and out quickly if he wanted to look at something. He also stood facing forward sometimes. For a younger and older sibling I think it works wonderfully. It is also only as wide as a single stroller and only a little bit longer. Wish more people would consider them and get rid of the double wide strollers that take up so much room.

Mine folds up really easy but it is a bit cumbersome to tote and it doesn't fit quote as well on trams, in the back of my van, etc.

We're in a similar situation for our trip in June (3 1/2 and 7 months) but we're just going with a single stroller. We have a sit-and-stand at home but I don't think it's worth the hassle or the beating it will take. The older one can walk most of the time and ride my shoulders if and when she gets tired. We also have a mesh Tula so my wife can wear the baby if we want to put big sister in the stroller for a bit.

we went to the store the other day and tried some out. the sit and stand is nice but will suck on and off the bus i think. i thought about just one stroller but we go 7 am to midnight sometimes so i think they will both need the stroller at one point. My older one is too tall for the city mini, i think we are going to rent a Maclaren twin techno side by side, it folds up nice and isnt as clunky as the mini double.

I can't imagine that a double stroller is easier to get on and off a bus than a sit and stand. But then again I have never tried.

the double umbrella strolled folded super compact, the sit and stand was nice but was clunkier to fold than the umbrella double

We’ve always done 2 separate strollers for our two kids. The double strollers are just so bulky and we found it easier to each take one stroller and one kid especially on the busses home at night. I also usually rent one and bring one from home. We never needed more than one in the airport and then it was less to haul on and off the plane.

we've never used one in the airport, my then 4 year old will walk and we can carry the 1 year old. I ended up renting a Double Maclaren Twin Techno. Folds nice and compact, not too wide or bulky. We tried it at the store so we shall see how it goes.
i think id have trouble at the end of the day with bags, sleeping child and each one of us carrying a stroller, especially me, not so much the husband lol

Rented a stroller for my grandson last Fall. It was extremely heavy and cumbersome to get on and off bus transportation. It would have been cheaper and easier to purchase an umbrella stroller in the hotel store - even if we had left it there since we were flying. If you are driving it is a no-brainer - take umbrella strollers.

I have not tried a newer double umbrella stroller. The older models tended to be difficult on even mildly rough terrain of which there is a little in the Magic Kingdom. Or at least there were a few transition areas then which we found a bit difficult to manage, especially with the crowds. The biggest difficulty seemed to be turning on rough terrain. I would say if this looks like an acceptable option see if you can find one you can try out in the shop. It has been a while so perhaps they've improved.

I'll definitely put in a big yes vote for the Joovy sit and stands. Especially the caboose model. Think they are probably the most expensive option so sorry for that but in this case we found you definitely get what you pay for. Worked great for my grandkids at multiple zoos and parks. I found these for rent for $30 plus $5 a day with SimpleStrollerRental in Orlando and probably some others have them as well.

I talked to a family that rented a baby jogger city mini gt double and LOVED it. They said they had rented a citi select double previously and this was hands down the easiest to use. They liked it so much they were buying a gt when they got home. I'm in the market for a double stroller so I was asking random families how they liked the double-stroller they used when I had the chance.

I'm in the market for a double stroller so I was asking random families how they liked the double-stroller they used when I had the chance.

This is the one we used and loved it. It was so easy to fold up when we had to get on a bus or boat and then in popped right out when we got off. I even was able to carry it on and off a few times with ease. Strollers are annoying but I found that for a double it was easy.
