Sorry For the Delay guys! Just been busy but here we go
6/24/15- DTD
We got up without an alarm clock but the littles still manage to wake up kinda early
and the dreaded letter under the door we knew it was that time.. The hardest part of these trips is that you spend so much time/energy planning and waiting and its over so fast..
So we packed up the car and decided to head over to DTD.. we had TREX reservations at 1pm. We were excited for this because last time we tried it here little man was scared.. and then a few years later we tried the rainforest cafe with him in san antonio and he was scared.. but now that his current favorite thing is jurassic world. we were hoping this would be a great reservation!He had also saved his money and only needed two sets left for his jurassic world legos ( a trex one and a raptor one) he was hoping for both especially since we had a coupon for the lego store
No traffic delays this early (it was about 10am) parked in the new garage! Loved it an dhow it told you how many car spots were open etc. Really neat! WE wandered around DTD.. I love the new plate sets and stuff they have out but didn't get any this trip. Hubby got a mug (chewbacca) and the girls each got something .. Rayne got some ride posters that are aset and cherish got an eeyore pillow pet.. I got a beach towel..
We loved the new boat house (didn't go in but enjoyed the launching the car-boats into the water) looked nice! Lots of construction everywhere... but looks like it will be real neat when its all done!

Only they were all out of the TREX set but had the raptor.. little man got a few "extras" because to use the coupon he had to spend a certain amount. One of them was the new ant man set..

We were then done looking around most of the places we wanted to and it was only noon. So i thought I'd ask if they could seat us early (this seems to be a big theme this trip... Us ready to eat earlier then our reservations) They did and I was happy that Walker was happy and we enjoyed the meal..

I have never been a fan of the food at trex/rainforest. but we had a coupon for 10 percent off which helps some.. He was especially happy we sat next to the "spikeasaurus" He knows its a stegasaurus but still calls it a spikeasaurus

Once done shopping some at the DINO store it was time to leave.. We did want to go by joanne fabrics on 192 before getting on the road so I could get Cherish some UF fabric for a new grip bag for gymnastics. We also ran into target to get some more zephyrhills water.. (quick story about this... I grew up in florida... and always drank this... I thought this was "name brand" water and others were fakes or just different brands.. when we were getting ready to move to texas we came out here for a visit and I asked my mom to get me a bottle of water when she ran into the gas station.. She got me ozarka.. I was like what??!?? thats an off brand.. i need zephyrhills.. i went in they didnt have any.. we checked everywhere till we learned that you cant get it here. I am broken hearted and always try to stock up when in florida.. the bummer with this trip is the minivan we rented did nOT have stow n go storage so we didn't have as much room as normal.. Bummer) We also were looking for walker's trex set. he had done so well saving his money in the parks and he was bummed we couldn't find it yet.. No luck at this target... so on the road.
We were heading to Ron Jon Surf Shop.. Cherish wants to be a surfer so bad.. she even got a surf board last christmas.. bad thing is .. here in central tx we are land locked.. and we have never even gone to a beach in TX. Honestly even when we lived in florida a few miles from the beach we NEVER went to the beach but boy does she want to surf.. the problem is.. she used to be scared of swimming and even though shes not scared any more she is by no means a "strong " swimmer.. we just don't swim often enough.. so the orginal plan was at daytona for her to do surf lesson for her bday present. but after taking her a few times to the pool i told her she just is not a strong enough swimmer yet.. The good news is right before our trip we found out Austin tx is getting a big surf place being built here so maybe her dream will someday come true..
Of course it had to rain on the drive to ron jon but got there and everyone was excited.. except walker.. he still was worried about getting his set..

We did have a minor meltdown from walker because as much as cherish wants to be a surfer.. he wants to skateboard.. he has one but he wanted a "real" one.. but after about an hour of shopping we all made it out happy

The kids haven't been to a beach since our trip to disneyland.. like 5 years ago.. so we decided to stop by cocoa beach. As we got out we wer ejust going to walk on th the pier but the kids wanted to go in the sand and get their feet wet so As dad waited by pier I took them down on the sand.. The funny thing is Walker is way over sensitive to smells/tastes.. and at first he was very unsure of the beach.. he kept saying how it smells like sharks!!!

After about 20 min we were ready to hit the road as we were staying in a hotel about 20 min away closer to kennedy space center.. We wanted to grab dinner and go by another target for his set... so off we went.. We were having a hard time finding a place to eat these little beach towns have tons of little diners and such and we are a bit picky as to where we eat.. But we found a target.. they were out... so we got the bright idea to look up online and EVERY target around was out... so next walmart..and one right by us has it.. we rush over.. find it.. get in line.. scan hubbies card.. DECLINED!!! WHAT?!?!? I had finally stopped worrying everytimewe got our card out if it would work or not... So i say to him go out to the car and get my wallet its in the camera bag.. While we are waiting I get an email this time from the bank saying if we authorize the charges through the secure link it will be good to go (why did we not get this email last time?!?!?) so i click it.. and while i'm waiting I try his card again still doesn t work.. Ughh I will have to call them after we leave here. SO he comes in and yes my card works (but I did it as debit... so wondering if the credit part will work...)
Now we are stressed again and its getting later.. so we stop to get gas.. try hubbies card worked! Yes.. no phone call to bank needed... heading to hotel.. as we get close we see on the map there is a cracker barrel by our hotel..s o there is dinner.. ENjoyed our dinner there even though they were out of the special of the day I wanted
afterward we checked into our hotel and got to sleep for the night.. Next up: Kennedy space center then Daytona Beach!
