Not so scary Halloween Party...What to expect?

Last year I was surprised at how many adults dressed up. I didn't, but wished that I had!

As others have said, don't miss the headless horseman. That was awesome! Our kids were pretty freaked out! Actually the entire story-telling session was very well done.

I thought the trick-or-treating was actually kind of lame, but the kids liked it and that's what's important.

I haven't been to MNSSHP since 1997 and I'm sure it's 100 times better now and you'll have a complete RIOT!!!! To answer the question about them decorating the entire park in an hour, the answer is YES. I know this because we were in the park during the day and everything was NORMAL--we then returned that night for the party at around 7:30 and everything was decorated to the tilts!!!!!!!!! It looks like it would have been an all night decorating job if us normal folks would have done it. I was amazed.

We are going to be there on the 13th as well and after reading all the posts, I'm so excited!! The kids are dressing up but my husband and I aren't...hopefully we won't be the only ones. We did buy ourselves alien things that go on our head so I guess we will be dressed up or at least look like idiots!:p

Thank you all for your great responses. My next question is if your in the park do they actaully get all the guests out while they decorate or can you stay in the park the entire time?

They herd everyone with wristbands into Tommorowland until the park is ready.

We always make dinner reservations right before the park closes so that we can eat a great dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and by the time we are done the party is just starting and off we go!!

From what I understand they will let you enter MK at around 4:00 for MNSSHP.

You don't have to dress up to trick or treat - they give you a bag as you come in. Don't spend a lot of time trick or treating as the lines get really long and if you don't care that much about candy - don't waste your time. We usually hit a few and then just enjoy the rides, parades (there's 2 of them - same parade - one earlier at about 7:30 -for the little ones- and one at about 10:30. We usually wait for the later parade because the little ones are usually on their way home. There's some shows - in front of the castle and over in tomorrowland, music and dancing there. This will be our 4th and we're looking forward to it. We all wear orange halloween shirts (Target) just to get in the mood. It's a lot of fun - we'll be there on the 20th, too.

Have a great time! :sohappy:

We'll be there on the same night! We'll keep our eyes opened for those orange shirts.:lookaroun We'll be easily recognizable as that old married couple who still look remarkably happy after 32 years. Look for us!

I'm sorry if this was brought up already, but I'm not sure where exactly to ask this question.
I checked the calendar and it said that October 7th is a MNSSHP night, but it's also an EMH night... how exactly does that work? Does that mean the park is open for everyone with EMH and who have their ticket for MNSSHP? I'm sorry, but I'm just really confused.
Thanks!

Hey Pumpkin, Welcome to the boards!

As to your question, the EMH on the 7th are for the morning so this will not affect MNSSHP that night.

Do you have to be in costume to go trick or treating? Or like anything else with disney you can just walk up and get your candy.

No costume is required, but it's sort of a waste of time. Although another thread states they will actually give out more "Disney" candy (as opposed to the store-bought stuff they have had in the past), the longest lines of the night are people standing in line for little pieces of candy (followed closely by the lines at the photo stations).

Love MNSSHP though - went to three last year, hoping for three this year.

Unfortunatly the tickets are for the 6th not the 7th there is no MNSSHP that night. I just double checked on the Passholder website. So, the 7th is just regular old fassionextra magic hours!

Actually, the Magic Hours are in the morning. I have tickets to MNSSHP that night. For some reason, that date isn't listed on the Passholder site. (I, too, was trying to use my passholder discount.) But Friday was the only day we could do it, so I had to pay full price. Still totally worth it!

The decorations are backstage already, we keep them by the gates and they run out and set them up after normal park hours close during our quick close. :)
