NOT DISNEY RELATED!!! But cool...

No.

I'm a firm believer of...if you can't play nice in the sandbox, we won't play at all.

Instead all we got was trashing on how it was fake snow, trashing on how the website sucks, trashing on how it won't happen anyway, trashing on how it's no big deal, "wow, a ski park"...etc etc etc.

Not one person except for happymom had one positive thing to say.

So tell your little negative posting buddies to grow up, so we can have real-people discussion. Not bashing discussion. There's no fun in that.
Actually, all you have succeeded in doing is leaving this thread with a link to a foreign based ski experience. Good job!

If they do open I know they'll get my money. Just think hakunamatata we could be on the slopes after a three and a half hour drive. That would be great. Thanks for the link.

I know. Although, Im somewhat concerned on how they are going to keep "snow" on the slopes when its 110 degrees outside. But I will let those who are far smarter than myself take care of those details.

That could be a challenge. I just wonder if it's going to be a synthetic surface. They had a little hill back in the early 70's there at the Southwest Fwy, and 610. I never gave it a try, I don't know why I didn't. I wasn't that worried about busting myself up when I was young. Anyway the surface was kind of like Astro-Turf, and you would put a liquid soap like substance on your ski's. It really didn't stay around to long. I think the run was to short, and the cost was prertty high. I can't remember if you had a lift to the top or if you walked. It was also very limited with the number of people it could hold.
I saw a film on an indoor ski area in Japan, and it looked like a lot of fun. I'm limited now because of medical reasons how long I can stay on a slope. It's just not worth the expense to go to a full size resort. I think I could handle these small slopes, and the way it sounds you take a lift from the Hotel to the top of the mountain, and ski back down. At least it would give me a chance to experience my all time favorite pass time once again.

Hey, I think I remember that! I was a kid, but I remember seeing it.

Thanks for reposting the original link.

It's quite an interesting program they have planned!

One thing you have to remeber about posting here is that EVERYBODY already knows EVERYTHING there is to know, so you just try to maintain your own sanity!

Some folks might care about Duabi, but they'll never get there in their lifetime, so I'm glad to see a similar idea here in the states - a short plane flight away!

SKI ON!!!!

I think both the Texas & Dubai projects are cool. :) The Texas one looks like it'd be a really fun place to go!

On a related ski topic, they're building this indoor ski slope in Jersey by Giants Stadium
