Oh man...

... sad day.. Money money, yeah we know it but we can't help being loyal to the things that we love.

Nothing is set in stone right now.. right? (didn't have time to read all 8 pages of posts...)

Bah. BAH!

Is City Walk Church Street or is it at Universal? That's why I have never known about Pat O's there because I don't venture from Walt Disney World! Now, the Cat's Meow would be cool.....I betcha right now there are probably 5 people in line to get up on stage instead of 50 people in the French Quarter. And I'm thinking the Dungeon must be kinda dead right now, as well as Chris Owens.

Yeah it's all very sad. I have yet to be back since Katrina to see my parents. I'm kind of afraid to go down there and see my city not the way I left it :(.

You can count Glen and I in on the sit-in, a plane trip from the UK is worth it. I can't comment on all these rumours because

we have no idea if they are true and if they are false I would like strong words with who started it

and I would be far too emotional about the clubs alleged closure

On my trip to the world this last weekend I was also told by a F&B manager that a new Restaurant would be going up on the other side of Circ towards the parking lot near the waters edge.

LMAO.

I love how the same people who normally jump into a thread like this and get all "Disney can do whatever they want!", etc., and then yell at/make fun of people for disliking changes/additions/removals, come and get all bent out of shape because a bar may or may not be removed.

"BOYCOTT!"

LOL.

I'm sure Disney is just quaking in their mouse-booties over that. ;)

Guess it's time to find a new place to get drunk. I feel really bad...REALLY. ;)

Write letters people!!!! The kind on paper with stamps. AC is worth at least .37!!!!!

PI and California Adventure are both hurting. Disney's having a hard time attracting people to the after park hours venues for several reasons. First, when PI was built, it was done sort of during the trendy time when clubs like that were the thing. They made it a place to go at night. It was self contained and it felt like you were going to another park. I LOVE AC and the Comedy Club!!! Adding the West side and expanding it made PI a corridor instead of a destination.

I think the nightly NYE routine got old.... It also didn't appeal to a broad range of people. Even in my late 20's I really wasn't interested in Jello Shots while standing in line at CC. It just seemed to get sleezy.

Besides, people can see fireworks anywhere it seems on property these days and when I stayed over at the old Disney Institute, it was rather noisy all the time.

EMH's have probably cut into it as well. People would rather stay at the parks when they are open later and spend their time there. The new Magic Your Way tickets have changed the way the admission is also. Even on my 10 day ticket, I ONLY get 5 extra admissions and I have to share that with BB and TL. On the length of stay passes, I could come and go and I did... A LOT!!!

& Yes, US and other places have sucked away patrons - and Disney has to figure out how to stop that flow.

I've always spent time at the Village even before there was PI. Change is sometimes good, but wiping out everything that people like is not the best decision. I think that they could probably update PI with some nice restaurants but keep the favorites that are populated and people enjoy.

But you just can't sit here and sulk and think that you are going to get heard...:brick: :brick: :brick:

Disney has always when I've written taken into account and listened to what their guests have said. They've changed several things back that didn't work (ie...vacation packages).

I'm sure that PI could be popular again. I'd certainly keep going if they came up with a good mix of what has worked in the past and bring in some new blood. Could Raglan Rd. be a start of something good?

Lets hope so. I certainly do. :)

Pleasure Island Update
Last week, we ran a rumor that all buildings on the lake side of Pleasure Island would be demolished and replaced by themed restaurants operated by outside participants, inadvertently setting off alarm bells across the Internet among fans of the Adventurer's Club. We have now received conflicting information from another source that indicates that the Adventurer's Club, at least, will not be going anywhere. Again, we do not have confirmation either way from those inside the Team Disney building, so there's no guarantee that this better-informed source is the final word, or whether it's just the Adventurer's Club or all of the endangered buildings that are safe. However, due to the conflicting information, we're now going to stand down from red alert and switch to wait-and-see mode until we get final confirmation one way or the other. The information about the West End Stage, the Hub Stage and the fireworks being done for, though, is still solid. They will all be gone.

We apologize for stirring up the hornet's nest, though in all fairness we did make sure that it was labeled as rumor and not fact due to the lack of confirmation

And I agree...not only was it the right thing to do, but it was nice of them to apologize....

I don't think they needed to apologize since they never claimed it was fact. People need to remember that unless there's a Disney press release to confirm it, it's all just rumors and might not have any basis in fact. They should have just reminded everyone it was a rumor if anything at all.

But they did ultimately cause grief to the hundreds of AC fans. From a public relations standpoint, they did the right thing by apologizing. An apology costs NOTHING and generally works wonders for a company/website/business. It's a shame not all recognize this.
