Non-negotiables in domestic castle park

Hi all!

I normally don’t post on this side of the forums, but I entertained a thought-experiment that I felt like would be fun to share here.

Let’s say Disney creates a new domestic castle park this decade, in an entirely new location such as Texas.

As I’m sure most all of you are aware, when the Magic Kingdom opened, a frequent complaint was that Pirates of the Caribbean had not been duplicated from Disneyland to the new park.

What classic attractions, lands, or architecture do you think would need to be included in such a park simply because the general public would expect it?

My answer:
Today’s Disney would probably create a park that relied heavily on IP, so I might expect a park similar to Shanghai, but perhaps more “American” in nature.

Things I would definitely expect to see cloned (or at least carried over in a spiritual successor format, a la Mystic Manor in place of Haunted Mansion in Hong Kong or the IP-driven Pirates in Shanghai):
• Pirates of the Caribbean
• Haunted Mansion
• Space Mountain
• Dumbo
• “it’s a small world”
• Castle (perhaps leaning into “all princesses” like the Chinese parks or a more recent princess)

High probability:
• Big Thunder Mountain
• Peter Pan’s Flight
• Main Street USA
• park-wide railroad

I think all you need to have is Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain. Everything else is negotiable. And the first two have to have their own flair to it. Like putting Pirates in a Pirates section and Haunted Mansion in Adventureland for example. Even Space Mountain is vastly different in the various parks, especially in France and now Tokyo.
