I will be arriving in Disney World in 11 days! Needless to say, I am super excited. But I just started running and I was wondering if it was weird if I got up early to run around the hotel grounds. I will be staying at the AoA hotel, Lion King buildings. So is it a weird thing for me to do or is it okay?!
Thanks!!

I believe AoA is connected to POP by a bridge so you can run between AoA and Pop Century. I couldn't find and AoA map but here is the Pop Century one. The bridge is between the 60's buildings across Hour Glass Lake.

Not at all weird. If you haven't run there before, you may want to bring a blinker/headlamp with you. If you go out before the sun is completely up it's just safer that way if you end up following any of the roads around the hotel.

This is one of the things that i an actually looking forward too on our trip in a few weeks. I just started running and we are staying at the BCVs. I aways saw the early morning runners out there running around the lake. Cant wait to be one of them! :D

I've run around Pop Century before.....I would just go wherever my legs felt like...running up around hourglass lake on each side until I hit construction fence. Now, you might be able to run (almost) all the way around it.

You lucky person you, I can't wait to go running in the mornings at WDW.

I am staying at AoA in November and I would think that between running the Pop Century loop, shown above, and then running all of AoA it would be close to a 3 mile loop by the time its all said and done. That sounds right up my alley.

Outside of the official runs, I never run at WDW. I figure walking 10 miles per day is plenty. :D
I always PLAN to run when I am down there and then I am always too exhausted. When we went for the marathon I did do a warm up run the day before just around the lake at Coronado and I think we did the same thing the day after to keep loose. That is the only time I have run other than a race down there!

Yeah, I've run on many vacations in many cool places (including on cruise ships, on Martha's Vineyard, in Las Vegas, in Denmark, etc.) but given the Opening-Closing schedule we keep at Disney, I've never managed to run there except for the TOT 13K. Then again, I've never been there for more than 6 days, usually less, so that's not too bad.

I meant to run the last time I went to disney but never did, I was recovering from a torn muscle and my weight was way down, I spent the whole time eating instead, lol.

Yes, run around the resort. It is awesome and so peaceful. Have a great trip!
