We will be staying at AKL 9/5 - 9/10 with two little ones who absolutely must take naps during the day for everyones sanity. Has anyone stayed there during the construction that is going on and experienced any problems with excessive noise? Our plan was to let the kids nap while we sit on the balcony watching the animals, hopefully with the sliding door open. Anyone with first hand experience??

Noise Level at AKL??

Is the fact that there have been no replys simply because most the of resort has been shut down?? Apparently, according to Disney websites, it will be fully open again only a few days before we arrive and this concerns me. Who ever heard of construction being done on time! One can only hope for an upgrade to the Poly i guess!!

I don't think you'll have much of a problem with exterior noise, although noise from the hallways is, as with any deluxe resort, a problem.
I'm surprised you haven't been moved elsewhere. I'd heard AKL guests were supposed to be moved through October. I could be wrong. Good luck!

No, you are correct. Guests with reservations for AKL have been moved to other Deluxe resorts. I don't know if disney is handling the difference of price though....they should for all that. A lot of guests are very excited about staying at AKL. I would be upset if I had to pay more in a situation I had no control over. :shrug:

October?!?! We have stayed there 3 other times and this will be the first time our kids we be old enough to "somewhat" appreciate the fact there are animals outside the room. What a bummer if its true. We reserved a savanah room with bunk bed so hopefully that will warrant a move to the poly if necessary as that was our second choice. Does the poly have bunk bed rooms?? Are we supposed to wait for them (Disney) to call us on this matter?

We are also staying at AKL (Sept. 19 - 29.) All the info I have seen so far says that they are only moving people thru Sept. 1. I haven't heard about a Oct. date.....
