No Surprise: SotMK Cards Will be Sold Soon

To be honest I really like this idea. Yes it's Disney going after more money but they are a business after all. To me this will be one more way to "bring home the magic" sort of like the Toy Story Midway Mania game for the Wii. No the game is not nearly as good as the ride but it is a great way to remember the fun times in Disney. They also mention that they want to incorporate the cards you get in the parks to use at home so I think that should be very interesting. I'm going in October and I do plan on trying out the in park game as well as getting a few boosters if I find they are within my budget.

I didn't notice a mention of a price, which is ultimately how I'll gauge this. I have a near complete set to begin with that I amassed in an 11 day stay. I will play as long as their is a format. I honestly, and I might get a little slack about this, feel like this could potentially be the next VMK... where users start to develop their own gameplay rules and it becomes like a Magic the Gathering. I missed VMK and I don't want to miss out on another opportunity.

Steven Miller posted this in one of his replies:

"The entire trading card game set which includes the booster pack of seven cards, one randomly selected game board, and tokens will be $11.95 each (please note that all retails are subject to change without notice)."

I feel like they are going to expand the game after this goes into affect. I think this is a great idea by Disney because the game and cards are so popular. Disney will be forced to build more portals and make the game better. My only hope is that the lines for the portals dont get any longer.

Read the comments in the post, many questions are answered...
The fire house is one location, there is another in Liberty Square to get the free cards and be trained.

(never mind on the link to the sales locations, that didn't give anything specific)

Some one can correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't tried it yet but I believe you go to the firehouse on Main st to get your free pack and learn how to play the game.

1.) each person with a park entry ticket is allowed ONE pack of cards per day. Each pack comes with 5 random cards, with one "star" card in each pack.
2.) when you complete the game, defeating all 9 villains you are allowed one more additional pack of cards. Please note that this is only allowed on the "key card" that was victorious. Many families were using one card but collecting one pack of cards per guest, this way they could get a bunch of cards and not be spread out and separated during their quest.
3.) cards can be picked up the Fire station and behind the Liberty Square Bell, the rear of the building faces the center of MK, which I believe is the rear of the Christmas shop.

We need time for things to happen.

That's what I'm looking for.

..sorry I wasn't clear I'm asking about the free game not what lebeau was posting about.
Wasn't trying to get off topic, but I've been meaning to ask and wanted to get some info from folks in the know.

Thanks! Yes...I did a little googling at one point but what I found was a bit vague. again always better to get it first hand from those that have played.

Thanks!

You can also get another free pack each day if the park is open past 10pm. They stop giving out cards an hour before the park closes and even if you got a pack earlier in the day, if you come back after 9pm and they are still giving cards out you will be able to get another pack with no problem.

Could you then play through using another key card with the cards you have acquired so that you could get another free pack from another key card?

Yes, but that would require another admission ticket.
So I'm going down with my wife and in-laws in October. If my wife, her step-dad, and I all decided to get out free packs and then play using my key card. We finish the game and get the free pack and then want to play again using my wife's key card. We could do this without the cost of another admission ticket because we each already entered the park with our admission tickets correct?

Yeah you can finish and play again, once you finish they ask you what land you'd like to start in. It takes like 3 hour to beat. Unfortunately this summer the higher levels are turned off, level one is so easy to beat . Any spell beats any villain
