Trip Report No Sounds Like Summer? We'll JOURNEY Anyway! *COMPLETED*

It was this week last summer that @TrolleyFollower91 and I had an epic girls trip to WDW.

On our first day we rocked to the music of DSB ~ the ultimate Journey tribute band ~ at the America Gardens Theater in Epcot. It was an event we'll always remember. DSB was the final band in the annual "Sounds Like Summer" concert series. The lead singer said the band was looking forward to returning next summer.

And here we are.....it's "next summer."

But there has been no "Sounds Like Summer" concert series in 2017. :(
No DSB. :arghh:

Don't. Stop. Believin'.

Em and I refuse to go our Separate Ways. We have too much fun together. We have one last chance to do WDW together before school starts and by golly we're gonna do it....even without DSB.

Want to tag along?

Attempting a full-fledged LIVE trip report is daunting and difficult, so I decided to follow @TheMouseFan's lead and be LIVE-ish. Real time pics and updates to be expanded on after my return home.

Oh, and I will finish my currently-in-progress trip report. :D

Who's ready for Summer #2?

Em wouldn't do it because @Tuvalu asked a random child enjoying some in her stroller if she could have a piece o_O:eek:

And I can't believe you asked some child to share their cotton candy!? I wondered about the picture of you with the bag, I was wondering if you just opened a bag and snuck out a little piece.

Ok let me get this straight
Tuvalu did not buy the dryer lint
She "asked" to have some from another guest without compensation
She literally is stealing candy from a baby?

NO. SHE. DIDN'T!! :hilarious:

FAKE NEWS!!!!

To clarify, I DID NOT take candy from a baby. The mom was sharing a bag of purple lint with her daughter and I merely asked if I could have a piece. Mom offered up the bag and I pulled a piece (larger than I intended) off.

If you've seen the Chinese Restaurant episode of Seinfeld, I was just giving Mom a story to tell her family for years to come! :joyfull:

I remain bitter about them getting rid of my favorite spot in all of WDW, Hidden Springs Pool, but this new swimmin' hole looks nice. I will reserve judgement until I am lounging there poolside, and make up my mind then. It is only fair to at least give the new place a chance.
I was pleasantly surprised and I hope you will be too!

Can't wait the get the lo down on Art Smith's.
You'll need to wait for the unabridged TR. ;)

May I please have some?! :jawdrop:
Right about now my tummy wishes you'd been there to help us!

My very favorite Paul Simon song! :inlove:

Really your odds were 1 in 2 since we went to Epcot yesterday. But MK is ALWAYS a good guess for us! :joyfull:

I was expecting Epcot. Specifically Mexico. Because Julio.

It's garbage, but I love dryer lint! :p (Didn't you ever have cotton candy as a kid? I used to like all the crazy colors, like blue. ;) )

Cotton candy made fresh, like at a fair, whether blue or pink, is awesome and fun to eat.

After about 10 minutes (or the point where it gets stuffed in a plastic bag), it looks like dryer lint and has the consistency of a sweet dried out kitchen sponge. :)

It's not so much that I'm not buying it. I was wondering what possessed the mom to agree to her request. I was also wondering how big of a pool of embarrassment Em melted into as she witnessed the transaction. Let's just say Em didn't get the boldness gene that runs in Tuvalu's family.

As the mother of a stroller aged child: I've gained more weight in these toddler years than I did while I was pregnant. I welcome any chance I have to share her snacks and treats, because usually whatever she doesn't eat, I eat. My daughter would end up having a handful or two of the dryer lint and move on with her life, because she's a normal human being. Meanwhile I'm in the corner finishing off the bag frantically like Cookie Monster with cookies :hilarious::hilarious: Sharing with other people means less adipose for me!
