They took down the signs for wait times ?
Used the have a board at the hub Magic Kingdom, Board going to the Land in Epcot.

How is somebody going to know the wait times ? If you do not own or want to own a Smartphone and take it with you on Vacation ?

Sorry, brain cramp. I don't know how to find the wait times otherwise. I'd grab one of these:

for the convenience. But you've already said you don't want to carry it around. You'll have to
go old school and look at the lines, I guess.

I do wonder why they removed these. I only ever used the ones in Epcot TBH but they were very helpful in determining the direction to head. I'm another who refuses to carry a phone in the parks. As a business owner in sales I am tied to the hip with my phone the other 358 days a year and I'll be darned if I am going to deal with work on vacation.

Are the wait time boards down permanently, or are they being replaced at some point? I kinda like the boards too, although also carry a smart phone.

I get that, 100%. I used to turn off my phone on vacation so no one from work could call me. Not a problem any more, but
I still have a phone with a number I don't give out. It's just for stuff like this.

Well if you don't want to carry a smart phone with you, then walk to the attraction and view the wait time at the entrance.

I agree with the OP here.

There are thousands of visitors to WDW who come from elsewhere every day. If I take my phone, and don't notice that the wifi symbol is not displaying, and continue to use TP or any other website to find out wait times, I will be hit by massive data charges. I can ask for a limit to be set, but that limit will be a minimum of £50 a day. On a 2 week holiday that's about the same as my air fare.

If I get a clue that Fantasyland is mobbed, I can rearrange my plan and start in Tomorrowland. But hey, I've already paid for my ticket so I guess WDW couldn't care less about guest experiences. It would not cost them anything to show the wait times. But it doesn't look good showing that all the main attractions have an hour's wait. Let's keep everyone in the dark.....

BUT let's be positive. I have 10 days to go, I have my touring plans, yet to re-evaluate but basically good to go. I just have to trust them now and hope we can do our must-do attractions and enjoy the rest. Nothing, and I mean nothing, is going to ruin our first Christmas visit, right? I think I'm just starting to believe it now!

Just a small matter of an airline workers' strike to worry about...........

There's a very simple fix for this worry. When you leave home, set your device into airplane mode. Then go back and enable wifi only. Now you have no worries about unwanted data charges. And you'll also be able to make your 4th and possibly 5th FP booking without having to search for one of the few FP kiosks.

You should have the option on your phone of turning off the data plan by carrier so it will only work off the wifi. I know my kids have it and it is turned on because we ran into a similar problem at home when the wifi got turned off and they had no clue that they were suddenly watching netflix over on the data plan and not wifi.

Never was a big fan of the big boards even before I had smart phone... The times didn't always sync up with the wait times at the ride and the last thing you really want is to make a rush to a ride with a short time only to find it magically shot up 30 minutes or more.

Thanks for this. I know about the wifi only option but when we tried this before (for my son who naturally is surgically attached to his phone as only teenagers can be), we found it was "too easy" to reset it, seemingly accidentally, and never found out how. I'm nervous about it as a result. However not sure we left it in airplane mode. Does that add an extra layer of protection on it?

To be honest I may just end up taking my iPad, even if it is more of a hassle. At least I know if there's no wifi I can't use it!

Been there, done that with my kids too! Which is why I'm nervous about the whole thing. Thanks for the suggestion though, I will investigate. That's why I like my iPad - no wifi, no data.
