Just tried to book a room for this weekend. Virtually nothing available. Same with universal. Is something major happening or is this just the new norm? Seems strange for this time of year

I have been trying for rooms for any weekend in Feb or March. And everything was been sold out. Well, except for the 1000 per night rooms, lol.

WDW is doing quite well right now. Summer is now quieter than much of the “off season”.

Disney is doing great. I am starting to wish they increased ticket options and increase tickets 15% but give a 10% discount for staying on site. I know I will be attacked for this but something has to be done about the crowds and encourge more staying on site in new hotel rooms and DVCs.

Cheer or comepetion every weekend at wide world of sports. Along with all the South American tour groups at the moment are here. And let’s just say these cheer moms are rude. Saving seats at the pool for 5 hours saying the people are on their way down along with a table...

I’m in Louisiana so yes but several other states celebrate too that people forget including parts of Alabama and Mississippi that have school breaks too. It can bring in large crowds. I know many going starting this weekend and next week.

I know, I usually include the entire Gulf Coast, but since I leave in a few days I was overcome with excitement and didn't mention the rest.I’m in Louisiana so yes but several other states celebrate too that people forget including parts of Alabama and Mississippi that have school breaks too. Also, several local schools I know of are sending dance teams or bands on week long trips and will perform that week.

This whole week of February saw all of the Disney Resorts fully booked months and months ago with the exception of some of the more pricier rooms.
And this whole week has been pretty busy in the parks. Not a dead time at all. Do you hear that TouringPlans? This is not a 2-4 level week! It's a 6-8.

It’s all good just pointed that out for others mainly that don’t know that that might be reading. And yeah they have that’s stuff going on too so it should just Ben overall pretty busy. Not surprised someone can’t find a room this last minute.

So my sister is down there right now. She was suppose to fly back north this morning but due to the snow we are getting her flight was delayed till Sunday. She ended up having to move over to the Dolphin because all Disney hotels were booked unless she wanted to bump up to a $1000/night room. She said both hotels are wall to wall cheerleaders.

The parks have been very busy all week. Lots of cheerleaders in the parks and tour groups.

President's Day Weekend...A day off for many schools and businesses (banks, financial services, markets) Great time to head south if you're you are in one of those industries. As a commodity trader we used to go when my kids were younger for a long weekend, and it didn't involve missing school or work
