No Member Break on Closing Cost

When others where saying that is was not big deal to not allowing resell market to use the Disney Collection, I said watch out more changes are coming. Now DVC will no longer pay the closing cost of any add ons to your DVC purchases.

So they do not want you to buy on the resell market and now they are going to charge you more when you buy from DVC.

I think that they should take "Club" out of the name, for they no longer want to treat you as members. The thing that got me to buy into DVC was that they where different than other timeshares and now they are moving to become just another Florida Timeshare.

DVC's differentiation between other Timeshares has always been in two primary areas: the aggressiveness of the sales approach and the minds of buyers.

The sales pitch is still much more low key than others. No hard sell. No keeping prospects hostage for hours.

Other than that, it's never been anything other than smoke and mirrors. From the time we walk on property, Disney's goal is to separate us from as much of our money as possible. That's true of $30 t-shirts, $9 cheeseburgers and $140 DVC points.

Looking at the total cost of ownership is always wise. If buyers decide they are better off going resale, even with the new restrictions, more power to them. If they want to pay DVC's prices, that's their prerogative, too.

But DVC has always been just another timeshare.

Three areas - the flexibility of the point system. Other than that, it is a time share.

If someone bought into it thinking it was some sort of feel good club, I hate to say it, but they were mistaken.

Its funny you mention taking "Club" out of the name because DVC cast members have recently been just calling it "The Vacation Club" because the Disney aspect was removed from the program.
It is still a good product and there will always be happy and unhappy customers like with anything else.
