I'd take the AK any day over MGM. At least there are places to explore at AK--nada at MGM.

I think there are a lot of places to explore in the studios. I went realy early one morning and just walked around the park when it was empty. Go around New York Street and just look around when it is only you...so peaceful. There is a lot to explore in the Studios, you just have to look.

At the season passholder's lounge at Six Flags the ENTIRE outside seating area was COVERED with garbage, mostly feminine hygiene products. It was the grossest thing I ever saw. And embarrassing because my son's 12 year old friend talked about it on and off all day. I told a manager about it and we went back later but still NOTHING was done.
 :hurl: That's terrible!

Well, to each his own I guess. I've been going to Disney at least once a year for the last ten years, and this was the first time I left a park mad. I only spent about three hours there, and stayed until dark to see the Osborne lights, which were OK.

If had not had an annual pass and actually paid to get in that park, I would have been furious. I'm not going back unless something drastic happens there.

Not wishing to cause trouble but as MGM seems to be Disneys atempts to regain the custom of the coaster loving crowd I dont think you should knock it. You may not enjoy thrill rides but others do. Like you I wish change could be more rapid and imagineers be given more scope but we have to be real. I agree the GMR needs a complete re-doo, and Star wars would be nice with an update, but its still fun (IMHO). Epcot was in need of money more than MGM but you never know whats just around the corner.

As for the park being mingin I have to say that having read bad things on this site I was actively looking for litter on our trip in Nov and was delighted buy the cleanliness of all the parks and the number of staff around keeping it clean. But all it takes is a few members of any team not to pull therir weight and things end up not as they should.

As ive said on other threads you dont know how lucky you are on that side of the pond (well in theme park terms any way
:animwink: )

>>>As far as Disney looking like Six Flags--there have been several posts regarding Six Flags and I have not said this yet because it's gross but--there is no way Disney is EVER going to be close to Six Flags in the garbage department!!!<<<

Let's see, last Sunday at the Very Merry Christmas party I headed into Pirates of the Carribean only to have to kick empty drink cups out of the way to walk through a turnstile, tip-toe over burned out cigarettes all over the queue and hop over a giant puddle of spilled Coca-Cola right before you round the corner to be loaded into your boats. All of this to find that the worklights had been left on in the ride thanks to a careless error made by Attractions ( this was not the first time I had been on the ride with the worklights on, mind you, but during operating hours this is unnacceptable).

Sounds like Six Flags to me.

I said right up front I'm not a thrill ride guy. That being said, who would want to shell out $50 for just two thrill rides?

Well in this country people are paying $35 for Alton Towers that has Nemisis and Air the rest of there atractions are similar to many found in travelling carnivals. and as its one of Europes top attractions it seems the world is indeed full of mugs.

If you build it they will come.

I stand corrected! I suppose they could ride the same two rides over and over again... ;)

No Disney Studio postcards...

I was in WDW last week and stayed at Coronado Springs resort... A friend had requested I bring back one postcard from each park... No problem, right? Wrong! I looked in every store in the 'World' that sold postcards though could not find one of Disney Studios. You had ones of Cinderella's Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Tree of Life but nothing of the Studios! The only one I could find was an interior shot of a limousine in RnR.
Now, based on the topic of the original thread... is this just a coincidence? And, could ToT4 be a diversion while the rest of the park is slowly 'killed?'
Ponder that.

First of all if you go in to the Book Store in Downtown Disney or World of Disney in Downtown Disney you will find postcards of everything.

And I don't know what you mean by killing, but I don't think this is a diversion. They are just updating a ride.

I think some people are looking at the place in a very negative way. I personally like the studios, and even though I think it can use some boosting, it is going along with what it is supposed to be.

Although I wouldn't put such a boneheaded move past them, I highly doubt that MGM will be getting a serious overhaul anytime soon. It is the #2 attended park at WDW right now.
