nngrendel Pre Trip May 2010

Ok so today marks 50 more days until we go. Lately I cant stop visiting these forums and each week that goes by I wear a diffrent Disney Pin to work. I have been planning our trip a little day by day. Its getting to be a obsession and even my buddies at work make fun of me for mentioning Disney so much.

This will be my 6th trip. Back on Oct 2008 was our last trip and was my wife's and 4 kids first trip. I proposed to her in front of the Castle during Wishes on that trip. However my daughter was not allowed to go on that trip so we still have her passes that were not used. I have already purchased out package and plan on upgrading her pass when we arrive to add one day and then the Water Park Option. This will be our first trip as a family and my daughter finally gets to go with the rest of us.

Going is Myself, My wife, 3 Step sons ages 14,12, and 8.
My stepdaughter 16 and my daughter 13.

Here is the plan.....

Saturday May 29th we plan on getting up and on the road by 6am. By Garmin we are about 7.5 hours out. We plan on stopping at the Florida Welcome Center as they have decent picnic areas there. This will also allow for the kids to run around and play. After that straight to Pop Century for check in. I hope to be there around 3. Once we check in and get settle into our room we plan on heading to Epcot to maybe hit Mission Space and Test Track before we make our way to WS.

We have ADR for Rose and Crown for 7:50 pm. I hope to get a spot on the veranda to catch RoE. Arrival day down...

Sunday May 30th we have ADR for Chef Mickey at 9:35am. We plan on visiting MK for the morning until the heat starts to get to us. We then plan on going back to the pool and spend the heat of the day soaking. MK is scheduled to stay open until 2am that day. We figured we would relax and get naps and then get back in the evening to catch Spectro and Wishes. After that we plan on hitting the rides pretty heavy and staying up until closing.

Monday May 31st AK will have EMH until 10pm. We plan on sleeping in on Monday after being at the parks so late the night before. Maybe catch the pool first half of the day and then go to AK during the evening hours to take advantage of the EMH. AK has always seemed to be one of the hottest parks so staying after the sun goes down.

Tuesday June 1st Epcot will have their EMH until 12am. We plan on getting up in the morning and hitting the everything early then maybe coming back to the hotel for a dip in the pool. We have an ADR for the Garden Grill for 5:30 pm for dinner. We might want to take in RoE again as this is one of my favs. We will just play that one by ear.

Wednesday June 2nd DHS will have their EMH until 10pm. We plan on taking advantage of these times as well. We have an ADR for 50's Prime Time at 5pm but not sure if we are going to keep that one. Still trying to build our budget and if there is one we are going to cancel this would be the one.

Thursday June 3rd we plan on visiting Typhoon Lagoon all day. After that we plan on coming back to the room and catching one of the only two shows of Fantasmic that week at 9pm.

Friday June 4th We plan on visiting Downtown Disney and letting the kids visit Quest for the day. We also are free to visit any park we want to catch up on that day.

Saturday June 5th is the day we leave. We plan on getting up and packing the van and checking out by 9am. We have ADR's for Ohana's at 10am. We plan on driving and using our parking pass at the Poly to catch breakfast. After breakfast we will then hop on the Monorail and visit MK one more time before we leave. We plan on getting back on the road around 3 or 4pm for the dreaded ride home.

Anyway my first attempt at a Pre Trip report. Unlike our 2008 trip I plan on not forgetting my camera this time so I hope to have lots of Post Trip pictures for my trip report.

When changes come around I will update this thread.

Best of luck to you on the drive down. Don't let any of the kids forget their iPods, laptops, DVD players, etc.

One thing that happened to us I'd like to tell you about was when we parked at the Poly for breakfast we were given a special parking pass for non-Poly guests. It gave us, I believe, a three hour window to park our car and eat. I think they do that so non-Poly guests don't go into the parks after they eat.

I have heard of this but this didnt happen to us. I had the parking pass from our other resort in the window and the guard at the gate just waved us through. Maybe we just looked like Poly guest that day.

I will be in Disney the same time as your family. And the funniest part is two of our days are the same basic schedule. LOL.

Have fun. Can't wait to read your trip report. Check out mine if you can.
