NMBC not coming?!?

Alternative plan

Personally, I understand Tim's need to not want to overexpose his characters. I think one way to please everyone is to rotate one HM overlay between all the worldwide parks. Each year the overlay would move on to the next park in the list. This way, everyone will get to see it, and since it wont be in one location forever, it wont be overexposed to a particular market. Not to mention, the build up while waiting a few years for the overlay to reutrn to 'your' park would create a massive surge of demand for Disney without becoming the same old same old in one park.

Haunted Mansion Holiday opened yesterday at Disneyland. The Le Bat En Rouge shop is dedicated to TNBC merch. Year round.

Really?? A cast member told her mom (my good friend and neighbor) that the HMH was not going to happen this year to keep the rides themed with the 50th anniv. But if the HMH is up this year. YES!!!!!! ROCK ON!!!!!

Definetly not the worst rumor. Everest being delayed from opening for say, a year, would be far worse.

I totally agree...to be honest, I've never really cared for the movie and was dreading the possibility of it coming to WDW.

You should try riding it before dreading it. The nice part about it is if you don't like it, it would be gone after Christmas. If you dislike it that much, just don't go from September through January. I have friends who hadn't even seen the movie that loved the overlay. And my fiancee, who doesn't care for Tim Burton in general, loved it too. It adds a bit of variety and, as a side benefit, I've seen the quality of the regular Haunted Mansion increase over the years since it has been there.

Yeah...I'd try it once...but I've watchted the movie once...and hated it.

Your answer is fine, except...the only time we to to WDW is during that time...so I should be screwed every year...just because of a few diehard TB fans want the overlay?

I'm not a particularly huge fan of the film. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised if you did ride it with the NMBC overlay. I am a huge fan of Haunted Mansion and wasn't sure what to expect with the overlay. I was COMPLETELY blown away by the effects and the music. I almost got whiplash the first time around turning my head all over the place just to get in all the effects and of course I ran back in line to ride it again.

I totally understand if you make that time of year during NMBC your usual vacation period and you're expecting the original. But like I said earlier, if given the chance, I'm sure you'd be amazed.

I can feel TB's thoughts. I'd proboly respond the same way if they tried to make this more commercial. But it's still sad. I never got to see this in person. :(

There have been internet rumors. Nothing more. It was never close to being done, because it simply can't go in without a major rehab first.
In DL, that major rehab only happened because of the overlay. It wasn't planned, but when they saw the state of things, they were corrected. And WDW's HM is in much worse shape than DL's.

I have also bought things specifically because of the overlay.

Before seeing the overlay, I'd tried to watch the movie twice, and never got beyond about 10 minutes. I went all the way through after seeing the overlay, although I didn't sit and focus on it the whole time. However, how much I like or dislike a movie has never, and I mean never ever not even once, affected how much I like or dislike a theme park attraction based on the film.

Cheers.
