It would be cool if lasertag type of game was there too... :p

I think that's a better fit in City Walk than in Islands.

Yeah I really wish Disney could get it together and tie things together as well as universal did with shrek, the mummy, the Simpsons and men in black. Really just a masterful job of making everything cohesive.

Yeah, it really was a genius move to put a collection of movie and television franchises into a studio park. It's so seamless that it's almost as if that were the entire point of the park.

Ha, I'd kill for a Family Guy land - I wanna eat at Big Pete's House of Munch, have a drink at the Drunken Clam, and go on a kickass "Road to the Multiverse"-themed ride. :p
I Wonder if they'd go for it? It's widely popular. I know it doesn't appeal to small children but they can keep it friendly for the theme park! There is a wide variety of characters and could allow some extensive theming and designs! I'd love a Drunken Clam atmosphere ahahaha!!

My only suggestion is Pokemon has lost most of its popularity. An idea that I came up with to replace pokemonis a star fox simulator where you would be in a dogfight with star fox as your captain (like c3po in star tours) even thought star fox isn't that popular, it would be a heck of a ride!

It would have to be an inverting simulator base, because... well... you know.

Really?? I was under the impression that Pokemon still continues to do pretty strong business. I see kids almost every day and I can't tell you how many little boys love to play Pokemon. Just curious where you are coming from on the lack of popularity. And even if it has lost some, I think Pokemon could still make for a strong ride... people know it and it's still a very recognizable brand. For me personally... I would take Star Fox over Pokemon any day though.

Haha. I'm not too hip either. My info comes mostly from my gamer brother and the little kids I see everyday, lol. It would be interesting to look up what are the most popular titles across the different game systems. And Star Fox still wins in my book. :)

I think Nintendo would be the best replacement for Toon Lagoon. However, I like Toon Lagoon the way it is now...

Nah.

Lord of the Rings, classic cartoons, Dreamworks animation, Looney Tunes, etc...any of those could be as good or better fitting.

Thing is, IOA is based on literature. Nintendo doesn't have a thing to do with literature.

Maybe not even a franchise. What could be done that isn't a franchise? I think a non-franchise land would be great, like Lost Continent and Port of Entry and those are both BEAUTIFUL.

I just can't think of anything... Something that relates back to adventure. Maybe it could be Harbor of Discovery based on the renaissance era in Europe. The whole land would need a complete re-doing and the two rides as well.

Youu bring up some good points but Nintendo certainly has plenty of charcters, color, and demand to be a popular place at IOA.

I bet people can name things from Nintendo faster than LOTR.

Dreamworks would also do well.

I don't disagree that some of the things you listed would be better replacements but I really don't think Universal should limit themselves by saying they "must come from literature." Yes Jurassic Park comes from a book but most people know the movies and have never/will never read the book. Many many many people have never picked up a single comic book and again know the Marvel characters from the movies. The only area I'd say is just as "dependent" on love of the books more so than the movies is Harry Potter...but even then, the movies are very very popular. So I don't think at least I would have an issue at all, and I don't think most other guests would, much less Universal management, with bringing in a non-literature based franchise. IF done right, I think a Nintendo land could be a huge hit. I would love to see characters from Mario or Zelda, ect and a lot of others would too.
