I really would hate to see a retheme of an area. Either make a new area or move it to the third gate. They need more and not less. Also games dont fit in with the theme of literature in IoA. I like toon lagoon and superhero island and i would hate so it go.
I agree with that, but right now it just seems more likely to be a retheme of an existing land instead of a new land in a new park.

Also, what kind of ride would do Mario justice? I know a dark ride, but how would you make it?

Honestly I think Mario needs more than one ride to completely receive its honour. Maybe mushroom kingdom as a name for a new land.

Honestly, for me, I would love a Paper Mario ride, or something that takes you through all of the Super Mario lands, and the big finale in bowsers castle

They have had manga which Universal could use to claim it fit with the literature theme, but it would be a stretch because Nintendo isn't known for their manga its known for their games.

My actually idea would be to create a third gate eventually. I was planning for this to be fifth gate idea at Disney, but can't use it anymore.

The parking area would have a bus and taxi pickup/dropoff, 3 themed parking structures, and a peoplemover system to get them to the park. The park would've opened in phases. Opening day would have included Mushroom Kingdom, Lava Jungle, Hyrule, Animal Village, and Planet Popstar on opening day. The over the course of 5 years. 1 new area with 1 ride, 1 shop, 1 QS, and 3 other rides in Animal Village, and 2 for Lava Jungle.

This is what I was going to include in each land.

That sounds sweet, but I don't feel that Nontendo alone can support a park

I feel like it can, but not it's own separate designation it would have to be part of a resort. I would think it would hold up practically well in Japan followed by the USA. Realistically I think if it were to happen it would be in Japan where it was shown they could run a theme park on Pokémon alone so a park based on Nintendo would be even better, or at least in my mind.

That could 100% work in Japan, just not sure about America

Parks need more than a single themed land to thrive. You have to jave offerings that attract all different sorts of tastes. Parks that severely specialiazed aiming at a traveling tourist market largely are no longer around (take a look at Boardwalk and Baseball and, to a latter extent Cyprus Gardens).

You can have an overarching theme (like Lego does), but I dont think a limited Pokemon theme alone would play well aside from someplace in Japan near a major population center.

Are there still Pokemon games made in the US? And if so, are they any good? I haven't played one since I had a GameBoy.

I have no clue if they still make Pokémon Games in the US. The recent games are really good Soul Silver, Heart Gold X, Y, Alpha Sapphire, Omega Ruby are the best recent main series Pokémon games. Outside the main series the Pokémon Dungeon Explorers games are pretty fun (I haven't played the newest one), Pokémon Conquest I heard is a good Pokémon RPG, and recently Pokémon Shuffle (Puzzle Game) which I somehow got is fun to play. I have fond memories of Pokémon Rangers : Guardian Signs. Those are mainly 3DS games with some DS games thrown into the mix.

I think there is enough of a following that a miniland inside a larger "video game world" would play very well, but I don't see it being able to carry a whole park. At least not in the US.

That said, could be fun to design!

That would definitely work well. I feel like if one was to create a full video game themed park, it would have to include more than Nintendo. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and maybe a space area for different games, but I can't really see too many other Nintendo IP's working, you could bring in companies like Sega though. I could see a sonic ride working.

I feel like realistically, if this takes over Kidzone, there will not nearly be enough room for all of these franchises. Either I think you get one nice themed land (Mushroom Kingdom or Hyrule) or a hodge podge of themed rides (Toon Lagoon/MSHI). I almost feel like Nintendo should be WAY on the back burner, wait for a 3rd park. Put spongebob in Kidzone, PLEASE!

I would think KidZone will become a home for the Mushroom Kingdom and Pokémon. With the possibility of Hyrule being incorporated. It wouldn't be that bad. Each have seen similar Fantasy Forests before so they could use that a common theming point. I think if they would wait for park #3 they would have not have made this announcement.
