This is an old open brainstorming topic I've taken the liberty of bringing over from the now-defunct Sywtbai.com (R.I.P.), just a little something fun to keep us creative this holiday season. Disclaimer: This is NOT the project I took a poll about. That is being worked on privately.
If you're like me, then you have three nerdy hobbies: Disney, Star Wars, and Nintendo. Nintendo in recent years has slowly begun to fall off the radar following the release of the Wii U. As a "90's kid," this disheartens me. To me, Nintendo was the king of video games. To me, it still is, and I know I'm not the only one who believes this. In an alternate universe, Nintendo has approached us lovely folk here on WDWMagic to pioneer its next console. Something unique, innovative, and just as nostalgic as a Nintendo 64. Something HD, but simple. It is our job to figure out a new masterpiece for a new generation. It's time for a revolution.

To start, I think that Nintendo should purchase Rare BACK from Microsoft. Enough said. Second, we should keep our console simple. Remember when the Wii was sold out EVERYWHERE for MONTHS? Remember when the Wii U wasn't? There are many reasons as to why the Wii U did not sell as well as its predecessor. For starters, it didn't have much third-party support, nor did it have many attention-grabbing launch titles (e.g. GameCube had Melee!). Our console will have both. The Wii U, while a great system, is a little too big and complicated. Why not make things simpler and make a console that can provide just as much entertainment with an even better quality? Whatever our console needs, we can discuss. As one with not much passion for technical aspects, I'd rather pitch ideas for launch titles.
While we should have multiple launch titles, there is one idea I've had for as long as I can remember: A sequel to Super Mario All-Stars, a Mario compilation for the Super Nintendo from 1993. Naturally, the long-awaited sequel would be a collection of games that have been released since then, including the great 3D Mario games of an era gone-by, all digitally remastered into stunning, eye-gouging HD. Even better, each game features a wide array of twists and turns, from added levels, revised levels, new enemies, new bosses, and much, much more. While much of the three-disc collection consists of remakes, they almost seem to be new games due to the sheer amount of changes. Ported titles from the various DS devices would be completely changed due to the lack of touchscreen! To save memory space, I've omitted both Super Mario Galaxy titles in addition to all other Mario titles for the Wii and Wii U. Personally, I feel as if many would much rather see older titles remade for the modern generation. Never fear! Excluded titles will be featured in our console's Virtual Console store. I will go into further detail on each featured remake at a later time.
