Not surprising seeing how all the photopass photogs already all used Nikons. Maybe they will finally upgrade from the D90 :p
I was going to say, I believe they already are 100% Nikon. I don't think I have ever seen Photo Pass with anything else. The wedding pros use a mix however - seen quite a lot of Canon in there.

Hey now, I like my D90. It's not the cameras that need upgrading, it's just a little education that the photogs need. Or a lot of education perhaps. Some are just really bad at it.

Oh I have nothing against the d90 (its a fantastic camera). The problem is that they are old..and every camera has a shutter limit. These are used a lot, every day...and the chances of failure are most likely PRETTY high (I have no idea how much maintenance..if any..are done on their current hardware).

Not surprising - the Disney photogs all use Nikon gear... And of course we all know the deal with Kodak disappearing.

Meh. I'll keep shooting with a Leica. ;)

It's my understanding those are freelancers and contractors. That's why they use Canon, It's their own camera.

Before you want to rip on photo pass about the quality, understand that if they do anything outside of their operational standards, they will get reprimanded. If they photograph using any other different settings them what they are told to use, they will get reprimanded. If they show any creativity or initiative at all, they will get reprimanded for it.

I know a couple of really good photo pass photographers you take some really good photos outside of what they do at Disney.

The issue is that photo pass is not allowed to get creative. That's the problem.

My take on this? I assume this is what would've happened. I just assumed thatCanon would've been the one to partner with Disney.

It's a good match for both companies.

It would also be in Nikons best interest to provide newer bodies to the photopass photogs. Keeping what they use now would just advertise a 5+ year old camera thats no longer being sold (discontinued as of 2011).

There really is no connection with photography in that pavilion, it would not make sense for Nikon to spend money there. It seems the deal they have taken fits very nicely.

That pavilion has no connection to anything right now. Wouldn't that be the point of getting a sponsor in there regardless of who they are?
