'Night Kingdom' to open at WDW in 2012....Circa 2008 talk

My how I remember this forum buzzing around the summer of 2008 with the excitement that Disney management was announcing that there will be a 'Night Kingdom' for guests to enjoy in 2012....

Well here we are, and my how things can change...

What ever happened to this concept idea? Did management see the recession force them to say, nah? Or how about it was just a bad idea from the start. I remember reading on here that the ticket prices alone were upwards of $100 a piece!

Glad to see the big 2012 announcement will be the unveiling of the Fantasyland expansion...

I'd say half of it was the recession, and the other half was that it was Jay Rasulo's pet project (well, along with all of those mini-Disneylands that he wanted to build across the country) and no one else was all that keen on it. When he left, Night Kingdom went with him.

From what I understand. To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing a few other Night Kingdom-esque elements wind up in AK in the line of Wild Africa Trek.
