I was just watching Nick at Nite, otherwise known as the Nickelodeon channel, and during the commerical break of Roseanne, they showed a commerical advertising Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einstein on the Disney Channel.

I just thought that was strange. They are not affliliated, are they? Universal Studios is affiliated with Nickelodeon.

Does anyone know if Nickelodeon and Disney are affiliated in some way?

Just curious

Nickelodeon is a Paramount own channel. Paramount only filmed many of the shows at the Universal studio park through a licensed agreement. I know that Nickelodeon has stop filming the live shows, I believe in the late 90s. Just recently - a year or so ago - Universal announce that the partnership was completely over.

I still wonder what they are going to do with the time capsule.

As stated above, competing channels and companies advertise on each others channels.

That's a good point. Considering that Universal has since built on the area that was once the Nick Studios building. When were they supposed to dig it back up? Do you think Universal just threw it away when they were rebuilding?

if you think about it, parents watch nick at night... so there is a better chance at getting the target audience.. mothers...

moms will se it, think its cute... and let there kids watch it.. or force them...

whihc in return gives disney more viewers who get hooked for life.

MTV networks doesn't care and agrees to take disneys cash... lol

simple as that probably.

Nickelodeon and Universal are slowly moving further and further apart. The Nickelodeon studios at Universal are gone and are rumored to be replaced by the blue man group. The slime geyser and the time capsule are both gone. Jimmy Neutron is still in the park, but it's rumored to be replaced as soon as the contract is up. Universal does have rights to their characters in their parks such as Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, etc... but that's about all the affiliation the two have anymore.

While the geyser was taken out, the time capsule was still there when I visited back in May. I can't remember the date the capsule is to open. If my memory serves me correctly. The capsule is to be locked for 50 years starting in 1992, this would mean the capsule should open in 2042. Correct me if I am wrong.

I just saw that very commercial on VH1 with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einstiens. It is not uncommon to advertise on the space available on other networks.

Nicklelodeon advertises a lot in the Disney Adventures Magazine.

It's just an agreement. Scrubs is actually a disney (touchstone) show and it airs on NBC, go figure that one. It all comes down to contracts and agreements.
