What was the nicest thing a cast member has ever done for you?

Mine was when I was about 12, and I got sick. It was raining and lightning, so we couldn't go home. A cast member went and got me a stuffed Nala. I still have it. It's one of my favorite stuffed animals.

That Might have been nice but I was At MK and we went on Splash Mountain right when the park opened 5 times in a row and one of the cast members said that it was so nice of us to come and visit her and she gave us back door passes!

In 1998 my wife and stayed in ASM. Our plane arrived late and we didn't have anything to eat. The food court had just closed and there was a cast member cleaning the drink station.

The cast member came up to us and asked us if we needed something and we asked him if there was anything still being served. He put his finger to his mouth and said, "Shhhh". He escorted us to the Cast Member snack bar and bought us some food and drink as we exchanged stories of where we were from. It was a great way to kick off our vacation, but perhaps just another story, of many, where a CM has gone above and beyond.

...Barry Simmons...a retail manager at World of Disney went out of his way to recover a couple hundred dollars worth of pins that a CM mistakenly never put in our bag....tracked down the pins over the course of a few days, called us at our timeshare, wrapped and packed the pins neatly in a box and gave us a valuable CM pin for our trouble...

...we had given up the pins for lost and this guy went above and beyond the call of duty to make it right for us.

...but just to be fair, their are SO many CMs that do special things that make the Disney experience special...too often we overlook the small things that these folks do and they never get credit for it....but this is one guest that truly appreciates ALL of those little things.

Nicest thing a cast member has ever done? Well, there was this one time after a late Thursday night at Pleasure Island... on second thought, I won't tell that story. :D

Seriously though, when I was a real young'n a really nice monorail pilot let me stand beside him and answered every one of my dozens of questions about how the monorails worked. I think it messed with something in my brain... :)

This was 3 days ago on Sunday, actually (trip report coming soon)......
Well, after a day at Epcot and MGM, we were at MGM at about 5:30, and we had to leave to drive home to Miami....me and my cousin wanted frozen Cokes, so we went to the frozen coke stand near the 50s Diner and Min and Bills Dockside Diner, but it was closed....so we went to Min&Bills and asked if anywhere else in MGM sold frozen cokes....the CM told me "no", and proceeded to ask if we wanted Frozen Cokes.....i said "Yes" so he immediatly exits the Min&Bills boat and runs to the Frozen coke stand.....after struggling for like 5 minutes, he emerges with 2 frozen cokes. I pull out the money, and he goes "Oh no, dont worry....i dont even run this stand. They always leave the coke machines running, but never leave the stand open....sorry for the inconvenience"....i proceeded to give him a very gracious thank you, and left for home that day with a huge smile on my face.....

One time in WDW my sister was really sick and we were talking to the CM at World of Disney when we were buying my sister a little get well gift. The CM told us to stay there for a minute she wanted to get something. She came back with a get well card signed by Mickey, herself, and about 20 other CM's. She also gave her one of those giant lollipops and a get well pin. It was so nice.

Heading for the great escape.
Towards the end of a trashing day at the MK we went for dinner to the Crystal Palace, daughter No2 was by now looking peaky and was feeling decidedly rough. We all had a lovely meal and the charecters were excellent but Micky hardly touched a thing and strugled to join in. At the end of our meal the CM who was our server whispered something in her ear she smiled and noded he reapeared moments later with a lolly. She was made up, but still looked rough. He got the bill and said that hed noticed my daughter was poorly and had hardly eaten, so there would be no charge, for her. That to me was true Disney Magic, afterall you know what they say about Scotsmen.

I told a CM in the store across from Barnstormerns in Toon Town that I had gotten several Mickey Stickers on past trips and used them as rewards for my special needs students....I can get them to work VERY hard to earn one of those "Mickey Stickeys"....I only wanted a few stickers but she got the roll from behind the counter and gave me over 100 stickers... The "Mickey Stickey" CM is very special and has helped my students succeed.:sohappy:

I find most (like 90%) of the CMs to be good but this is apost about great CMs so here ya go:

Last year during our annual trip to Disney the wife, the kids and I were waiting to see tapestry/illuminations when my three year old decicided she wanted some popcorn. I stayed with our 5 year old and my wife took the little one to find some popcorn. Well the popcorn stand was closed. Well needless to say my daughter blew a gasket. She was crying when CM approached her and asked what was wrong, my wife explained the story. The CM told my wife to wait right where she was. Like 3 minutes later the CM returned with a souviner bucket of popcorn my daughter was so happy. My wife thanked him and tried to pay for the popcorn the guy refused to take her money. He told my wife that is was his job to make little kids happy. And our friends do not understand why we spend the money to go back to disney every year!!!

We were in disney last week and my daughter talked about that night she still remembers that man giving her popcorn!!!

Hey I hope if Mike Eisner reads this strand he will not track down all the CMs that have given free "stuff" to all of us and fire em!!!

Nicest thing, this is actually something I wrote about before so I won't go into mega detail.

In 2000 we were in MGM studios early and were waiting for the ToT to open, it was cordoned off as they were filming some DVC promo or something.

Anyway, we got chatting to a ToT crewmember called Glenn and we told him that this would be the first time that our 4 year old son could go onto the ToT, he'd been too short obviously on the previous 2 trips. Glenn took us round the back and let the three of us have the first ride of the day on the ToT with no one esle but us and him in the car. This made it extra special for my son and us on his first ToT experience.

Needless to say he has ridden it a ton of times since.

Hi,
First all, (before I forget) I just wanted to say that whenever we have special moments like these with Disney CM, we should take the time to write in to Disney management about them. Disney usually has a reward system for CM. I used to be a Disney Store CM and we got lots of little perks for having nice letters written about us. Pins, prizes, bonuses. Not sure if it is still like that, or if they do that stuff at the World, but it is still a good idea to write in, IMO.

Now, for my story (which by the way, tops all of your, LOL!)

Last time we were down, I had made the (big) mistake of not buying my passes before hand. When we checked in, I needed to pay the front desk something like $2,500 for our length of stay passes (they were called something else, but I don't remember what it was) This was a Sunday night. Well, during the trip down, I had lost my credit card. All I had was an ATM card from my bank account. I had a $500 a day limit, so I could not take out the cash to pay for the tickets. There were seven of us in my party, all depending on the purchase of the tickets to enjoy the day the next day. I was so upset and angry at myself and miserable. The cast members were very nice and told me to have some pizza (on them) and go sleep and they would help me deal with this in the morning. So, we all went to our rooms and tried to rest. The next day in the monring, I was told that I could go to Sun Trust bank and get my credit card company to wire Disney the money. Since this would take a lot of time and really I was the only one who needed to go to the bank, the manager on duty gave everyone in my party their length of stay passes (even though we had NOT paid for them yet!) so they could go enjoy themselves while I straightened out my mistake!!!! Then, when the bank said they could not get the money to me until the next day Tuesday, the manager extended the passes so we could all enjoy ANOTHER day at the parks (still not having paid for our passes!!). So, we didn't have to waste two of our Disney touring days because I made a mistake, and lost my card. When my money finally came on Tuesday night, I paid for my passes and the cast members were so happy to see my problems resolved, that they gave us stuffed toys for the kids!!!!!! We had two days of Disney MAgic instead of stress, and disappointment cuz Disney is WONDERFUL!

Needless to say, I already bought my passes for this next trip:)

When Ccastmembers find out I work with special needs kids they always give me a bunch of Mickey Stickers. The kids really work for those.
And the interpreters always make my stay a joy. Understanding the words makes life much less fustrating and all the more Magical.

Although this wasn't done for me, this was the nicest thing I've seen cast members do:

After the final showing of Tapestry of Nations, a big group of teary-eyed performers came out to meet with our group of fans. They gathered around and presented John and Joan with a letter thanking them for their support, a souvenir drum signed by some of the performers, and a scrapbook filled with pictures and personal notes from the cast.

I do not remember what the nicest thing that was done to me by a cast member but I remember one of the nice things that I did for a guest when I was a cast member.

There was this family who came out of Is Tough to be a Bug and one of the daughters had lost her hat. They came to me because I was there presenting some kind of animal. They told me that they lost the hat, I told them to come back in a couple of minutes after the CM's do the sweep of the theater and I would go back and check the lost and found for them. It did not turn up in the lost and found. I took there info on what hotel they are staying at and told them that I would try and track down the hat and get it to them as soon as possible.

I then went on my break and walked all over the park to find the hat that she lost, I then went to the main lost and found to see if it had turned up. It did not turn up so I went back to the store and had them replace the one that was lost and I had it delivered to their hotel room.

I never did see the family again I really hope that they got the hat and it brought joy to the little girls face.

You just reminded me of one of the things I did... and I think I posted this before, a long time ago... so forgive me please.

I was working the "family of the day" program and I picked a family and gave them a tour of the mexican pavillion and after that sat with the family to have a treat at the Cantina, and in the conversation, it tirns out that it was the daughter´s 7th (or so) bday. I congratulated her and said good bye.

I went into the pavillion and got a little piñata and filled it with candies and a card signed by Mickey. (or Donald, can´t remember very well now that I think about it...) and have it delivered to their hotel room.

Two days later, I was going to Jellyrolls with my friends, and the parents were having an ice cream at the Boardwalk and all of a sudden I hear them scream my name. They approached me and told me their daughter loved it and cried when she saw the piñata on the bed waiting for her when she arrived from the park. They said that it had made their trip. I was so surprised that they recognized me not wearing my costume, among a bunch of friends, and after two days! I almost cried! I felt so happy with myself! They made my day! ;)

We first went to Orlando in 1991, and when we visited universal studios, my mum and dad got me this E.T. soft toy, needless to say it was my favourite toy, and took it everywhere with me!

I took it to our second trip 2 wdw in '95. Now I cant remember which hotel we were staying in, but it was a disney one!

We returned from the parks one day, to find that ET was missing! We searched and searched, but we could not find it. We contacted management and they aplogised and they said that they would search in the laundry. The next day still nothing, and as you can probably imagine by this time i was really upset, so day after day the management came back and told us they still had not found it. After about 4 days we had given up all hope.

Then on our way out of our hotel for the day, the CM who had been dealing with us asked me how i was etc.

We then went home, without ET. For me it had partially ruined my trip because i was very attached to that toy!

About a week after we arrived home, we received a parcel........with a brand new ET in, and a note aploogising and saying that this CM had gone to universal and bought a new ET toy! (the et toy was not excactly the same because they had stopped making the one i had :) )

I was absolutely delighted!

I know that story isnt just of one CM, but i had to tell it :) :) :)
