This is absolutely correct.
For the fans, the game needs to happen after the season is over because a goos portion of players are playing in the superbowl, they would never risk injury before that.

The players don't give a hoot about Orlando... Well let me rephrase that. NFL starters who would be in the pro bowl but don't go, don't give a hoot about Orlando.

Hawaii was a destination to entice players to an exotic location. Heck I remember seeing an old Olympic soccer facility in st. Lucia on my ride from the airport. Why not switch it up to werid locations every year? I'm sure a ton of players would love to go to Dubai, hopefully some of their criminal records will keep them there.

I agree what was said about a skills competition. Those are far more entertaining than the game.
I talked to many players yesterday at WWoS while getting autographs and asked how they liked this compared to Hawaii... they said they liked it much more as its more family friendly and shorter flight.

I should explain to Patriots fans what this is. You see, there are other teams in the NFL that don't go to the Super Bowl every year. Some of the better players on those teams have historically gone to Hawaii (and this year, Orlando) to get drunk on the beach and play flag football. They do this while you're preparing for the Super Bowl.

You know what my favorite thing to do is? Look at tom Brady's face when he loses a superbowl. Super fun!

Honestly of the players that go, many into out because of the superbowl and many because it's not special anymore... The players there may not even be the ones anyone wants to see.

I agree with you, back when they had ESPN the Weekend, many of the players mentioned they liked coming to the happiest place on earth with their families (who always had Ambassador escorts). Some (like Tony Gonzalez and Brian Dawkins) came just about every year.

Gosh I really miss that event.

I really wish work wasn't this busy right now and I could have taken a day off to visit the practices. From the pictures I've seen, the players seemed to be quite accessible and accommodating with autographs and photos. Who'd you get?

Drew Brees, Justin Tucker, Greg Olsen, Emmanuel Sanders, Aqib Talib, Demaryius Thomas, etc.

All very accessible at points thoughout the day as you mentioned.

As a cowboys fan it's hard to argue Brady not being the best ever at that position. The guy is a legend that I'll be able to tell my kids I watched him play.
Few recognize greatness in the present.
I got to thank Pedro Martinez in person and tell him it was a privilege to watch him play. I hope to have the same opportunity with Brady.

It takes two Manning's to equal one Brady. Honestly, if not for that family his career numbers would be even more impressive.
No Doubt. Greatest of all time but he does have tantrums and they are amazing to watch, especially when he's on the losing side of the scoreboard.

I still give the GOAT to Johnny U. And the reason is to be the greatest, you need to have fundamentally changed the way the game is played. The man basically invented the 2 minute drill during "the greatest game ever played" and put the NFL on the map. Brady is good, but he is standing on the shoulders of legends.

Not to mention I met the man multiple times after his playing days were over; one of the most genuine down to earth guys you'd ever meet. A real class act... and that is something I don't the Brady could ever hold a candle too.

You make many valid points.

He definitely does, but now a days that happens so often in football, be it a receiver calling for interference or a QB saying they got an owie. I definitely recognize that Brady and Manning made this type of whining acceptable.

Eli patented the pouty play on draft day! Brady wears uggs though. Something tells me if Eli or Peyton showed up to thanksgiving in Uggs, Archie would turn to Cooper and tell him he gets the #2 son spot.

Does anyone have a write-up of the 5k? I didn't see a thread in the Run Disney forum. Just curious how it was compared to the Run Disney events as it's my understanding that while it was in Epcot, it was put on by the NFL and not Run Disney.

Were there players present for photos along the course like characters at the Disney 5k's? Were players running along w/ the participants?

Blog Mickey did.

I heard it was the same 5K course at the runDisney ones but with 0 entertainment. The medals look nice though.

Yep. No fireworks, no Disney Characters, No live Anthem and the worst part, No Rudy Novatny(announcer). There was a nice medal, one water stop, Trey Wingo and Carissa (announcer... the don't know her last name)

Oh one more thing... no corrals, which means a lot of walkers who didn't quite understand runners etiquette near the front.
