Weeden actually has an injury right now, but they are starting Brian Hoyer (3rd string) over Jason Campbell (2nd string). The HC (sorry, don't know how to spell his name) also said that there is no guarantee that Weeden will be the starter coming off his injury.

I was reading an article about the GB/CIN game this weekend, and they pointed out something that's really kind of amazing. Both Mike McCarthy and Marvin Lewis were on the same coaching staff at Pittsburgh (NCAA). That coaching staff also included John Gruden and Shawn Slocum (Packers current special teams coach). Talk about an amazing coaching staff!

Why would they ever trade Richardson?!?! Horrible move IMO. The pick in return most likely will not be a high pick either since the Colts are a good team.
And Eli Manning is on pace to throw 56 interceptions

I heard that the Browns are going to try and trade up for a franchise QB if their initial 1st round pick isn't high enough.

And Manning with 56 interceptions. :D

This is the statement the Cleveland Browns made earlier on the decision to trade Richardson:

they are trying to set themselves up for a QB in the draft already... but its a huge gamble. then the talk about playing the #3 QB... someone is playing wack-y ball and is going ALL IN :)

I don't know much about Cleveland, but it seems that it's their staff that needs fixing. They keep drafting players that have a lot of talent but they can't seem to develop them. Now they trade Richardson and start the 3rd string QB? I feel that's almost a disservice to Browns fans. Hell, pay me their GM or coach salaries and I can make the same decisions.

The thing is they completely wiped their staff prettt much in the offseason. New GM, news coaches, etc.

The timing is definitely eyebrow raising. I mean, if you're going to start over from scratch, at least clear your roster of players you don't want before the season starts! Still, Cleveland and Jacksonville seem to be the two worst run franchises in the league. As far as I'm concerned, Cleveland's never had a legit franchise QB and you need a QB to win in this league.

Way back when they had Otto Graham, and he was very good. That was before the Super Bowl era, though. Since then they've had Bernie Kosar as their best QB.

Also, I heard a reasonable explanation about the whole thing. If they know they are going to have no shot at a playoff run, and they know they have to rebuild... why wait?

Good thing we face the Panthers this week, or else I might've been worried about starting the season a horrible 0-3 :cold:

Just looked at the Pick'Ems and noticed two people didn't choose a team for tonight. Don't forget to pick the weekend games!

Everyone else chose the Chiefs.

I chose KC right from the start. I just had a feeling that the Eagles weren't going to do well tonight... not really sure why I felt that way.
