Next Gen Queue Confirmed for Peter Pan?

That is not true, I was on it in may and it stopped completely for a good minute or two(just as I was telling my friend that they cant stop the ride without evacuating it, and calling the fire dept.LOL:ROFLOL:) And after a minute it continued running, and i was completely surprised,

There's an e-stop and an "e-stop". If the ride is stopped and they can't start it again, then its an official e-stop and it needs to be evacuated. Otherwise, the ride can be restarted by a cast member.

Also, I think its a matter of how much load the ride has when its restarted. If there's too much weight, it can't move the boats. But that's just what I always thought, not sure if its correct or not.

Back on topic.

Have we heard any details from the insiders as to what this interactive queue will include? The area sure doesn't seem large, I'm hoping they can accomplish something interesting.

I think she answered the question, but yes - as I specified below the portion you quoted, apparently this has been relaxed a bit and it's only a true "E-stop" they have to call Reedy Creek for.

My understanding is that it's not so much "it can't" but they "won't" because of safety issues.

In any case, as someone stated above and I concur - the ride needs a complete overhaul anyway, it just makes sense to get new cars, increase capacity, and take care of accessibility issues all at once. They all touch each other in one way or another anyway, so here's crossing fingers.

I don't know if this was talked about or not but cast members have confirmed it and there's an article on this website that talks about it and this is what it says,

"While it has not been announced formally to guests, cast members have been informed that work will be happening in the queue at Peter Pan’s Flight between January 16th and March 6th. An interactive queue area is being constructed to entertain guests during the usual long lines that this ride gets. It is expected to open on March 7, 2012. Disney is stating that the work will have no effect on the attraction, so it will remain open as the Haunted Mansion did during the installation of its interactive queue."

2 months isn't very long. Mansion queue took five months if I'm remembering correctly and the only thing that was there was a hillside...

I had the same experience in 2010. We were stopped right after "take off" in the bedroom scene for around two minutes. Then the ride continued as usual without incident. It was the only time I have ever been on PPF that it stopped.

What made the Pan wait so bad was the standby line would come to a halt while the fast-pass line was allowed to go nonstop. So hopefully a refurb of the line would end the fast-pass.

I did take advantage of the fast-pass later in our trip and I laughed at all the suckers in the standby line.

The only way fastpass will ever be removed from Pan is if they are able to increase capacity to a level similar to that of HM.

This is one of the few ride's i think need's a Interactive queue. But i had also hoped Peter pan would get a refurb. but a new queue is better then nothing...

I am sorry but until they bring WDW Peter Pan ride up to the same level of quality as DL's Peter Pan adding an interactive Q is the biggest waste of money. I guess maybe the new Q will distract people from how crappy the ride is. I wish MK mgmt would spend some of this money on real refurb's. Besides HM I am sick of these half ______ refurbs. Will POTC ever get upgraded audio and new lighting like DL did or will we just be stuck with a half assed refurb for years. It is amazing how right they can do things(HM, HOP refurbs) and how wrong they continue to do things like putting in a interactive Q on a ride that is in such poor condition. Of course there would be no need for an interactive Q if Peter Pan didn't have fastpass which makes the waits ridiculously long.

The only reason you see those two having amazing refurbs is because Phil has a major soft spot for HM and because HOP has to be updated very frequently.

Yeah, I know about Phil's soft spot for HM. Of course he is also the reason the Haunted Holiday makeover has never come here. I am one who has been to DL during Christmas time and it blows away MK when it comes to Christmas and 2 of the main reasons for that is HMH and IASW Holiday but we will never get that here. It is funny how they use the excuse of not upsetting the so called once in a lifetime visitors(which are not as much as they used to be) but that doesn't seem to stop them from doing all these major refurbs lately. One of the reasons that DL's HM and IASW are in such good condition is because of the holiday version's and the downtime they have each year. But that is a whole other discussion that has happened on here many times.

The Capacity issues at Pan aren't nearly as problematic as they are at Toy Story. A poster on here informed us that Pan actually has a capacity of around 1200 per hour which is pretty good for a dark ride. I don't think capacity needs to double, but getting it to 1600-1800 range would be a huge boost.

Making wider benches that can fit 3 or even 4 comfortable would probably be a much easier approach. Additionally, a total rebuild could help them pull vehicles off for disabled guests as well.

They added wider benches to Disneyland's PPF, and it has helped. A previous 40-45 minute queue is now closer 30-35 minutes.

oh i agree. but there really needs to be something in that queue. since you literally stand for 90+ min looking at a wall. But until the ride get's a refurb (and better capacity) i will not ride it.

I know I'm in the minority here, and while I agree that WDW's PPF needs a refurb desperately, I thought the curtains of white Christmas lights in DL were totally lame. I actually like WDW's better just on that account. But the vehicles in DL need to come to WDW.

Or in the case of Haunted Mansion detract from how great the ride is.

Phil Holmes has nothing to do with it and you know that!

No, we don't. Do you...? :lookaroun

As the man in charge of the Magic Kingdom and one of the more important figures in the running of WDW in general, it certainly seems like Holmes has a hand (or at least has the ability to change) most of the changes made within the park.
