Next Gen+ for dummies

Thank you all for posting

As a DVC member my fear is that we will be the last group brought into the loop. Unlike a cash customer we (as far as I know) don't have our park passes built into our room keys. We personally have annual passes.

We were at WDW last week and all the fast pass rides were set up for the new system. They had covers over all of the newly installed FP equipment. I see testing to roll out very soon.

I believe that FP+ is just the tip of the iceburg. I can't see Disney spending all this money to link FP to our "room key" just to control crowds. They have to have a larger agenda. Only time will tell if this agenda will make us happy or drive us hard core Disney fans away.

I agree. We are DVC too, and like the flexibility with DVC. And being Fl residents and annual passholders many times we are not planning the trip of a lifetime to Disneyworld, we book last minute (like a couple or so days before) and do a three day weekend. We take whatever DVC is available so we help fill miscellaneous vacancies. So no way are we planning way ahead for FP, etc. I don't know how many like us are out there but I would suspect we aren't the only ones who do a similar vacation.

Please don't take this the wrong way; I'm a DVC member too. But everyone talks about the "flexibility" of DVC. I don't understand it. Nothing is more flexible than cash and DVC is much more inflexible than cash.

Could you please explain to me what you mean by flexibility? Thank you!:)

True, cash probably is the best, but we only vacation at Disneyworld so maybe we are a little different than most travelers. I like the fact that I don't have to think much about our accommodations, we just choose the resort that is available anytime up to that day, and go. I've never had any other Time Share company but know people that have and DVC seems convenient compared to others. As you know, depending on how many points you have you can book anything from 1 day to whatever, and wherever there are vacancies. Other time Shares you only get your week (or whatever you bought) at a certain time of year, and you might have to trade for locations. It might not seem like a big deal flexibility wise to seasoned travelers, but to us DVC is un-intimidating (if that is a word), and anything with less stress is a good thing for us.
