Nah, the next park should be one of just thrill rides....the idea of a park based on Disney villains is intriguing. Every ride there could be an "Escape from..." ride. Like Escape from Hook, Escape from Cruella DeVille, Escape from Ursula, Escape from Scar, Escape from The Wicked Witch, Escape from Jafar. Etc, etc...

Wouldn't that get boring or annoying tho?

Nah, it depends on the ride. Who cares what the name is, just make the ride exciting, you know?

well if you have all the names being "Escape from..." that'd get pretty annoying, hehe

We were discusing this about a week ago...a lot of people didn't like the idea of only thrill rides because it wouldn't attract the interest of enough family members, basically

Thrill rides? We don't need another Islands of adventure! Disney is about FAMILY fun not teenege to middle thirtys fun. The imagineers work hard to make sure that the parks are appealing to everyone. A park full of roller coasters wouldn't me much fub theming wise either...I mean just look at IOA! :p

We need a Disney Islands of Adventure-type park. This way at least it would be kept Disney-fied and there are plenty of FAMILIES that love the thrill rides of Disney. Ok, to make an exception, they can have a small part for the grandma-type folk who can't handle or are scared of the most fun rides in all of WDW. IoA is Universal....you have to know Disney would be completely different theme-wise.

How many families do you know that every single person in it likes rides (except for the "grandma-type folk")? And that's a lot of money for a park where only few families or people will go to. That's one of the many good things about Disney, it doesn't have JUST one type of attraction. If someone wants only thrill rides, they can go to IOA...And that's probably why more people (I know at least) like Disney then IOA

The disney thrill-only park idea is quite unliley. As everyone has said...not everyong likes theme parks. There is a reason why IoA is failing..and its not because of bad themeing....theres not enough for EVERYONE to do. Thrill seekers love it..but what about the elderly or the very young? You are cutting off a LARGE buisness by staying one sided and making it thrills only...

Pretty much every family I know of likes the rides, and for the ones that don't, they're content just waiting for them and watching the reactions of those getting off the rides. That would hardly be a park where "few families or people" will go to, it would be packed fairly regularly, well worth any amount Disney would put into it. Most people I know like Disney better simply for the atmosphere. True, IoA has some of the greatest rides around, namely Spiderman and Hulk, but the overall theming of the place is disappointing. You wouldn't find that with Disney.

And let me ask you this: Will the people who are watching the people on rides be willing to go back to that park again?

Sure they would. Ok, I'll give a little bit more.....while the park will be PRIMARILY for thrill-type rides, there will be some lesser ones around so that these people won't have to just sit and wait, they'll have somethings to ride too.

So let me get this straight..you are saying that people would pay admission just to sit and NOT get on any rides?

All the theming in the world wouldnt bring in people if there is nothing there for them to do...

Next park? Hmmm....

Never try to think of an existing park. Let your own imagination guide you - your own ideas as a springboard. Usually parks modeled of others, ahem ahem..., don't turn out as good, so don't think of IoA and then think of a Disney version...etc. And don't base it one one single theme, like "escape" or "thrill rides"...think of a variety of ways to entertain and unify each into a brand new idea...this will get more crowds and show more imagination.

So let me try to think...

No, these ones could simply choose not to visit that park. There would still be 4 others to visit, remember.

Ok..so this park would cut off the majority of the 40+ demograpbic and also destroy any chances of getting buisness from the 12- demographic

Thats most of the buisness the parks get...

Don't get me wrong, I love rides, but a lot of people either don't like rides or can't go on rides because of health issues, and Disney would loose all that money building a park seldom people would go to

Not at all, they'd still have children and other family members who would die to go to that park, so naturally they'd go along with them. It wouldn't be that drastic a dropoff in visitors.

I still disagree...but thats why this is a debate ;)

I go to IoA and I see people walking out really dissapointed because they couldnt find anything they would want to ride...

As you said..they have some GREAT rides there..and the themeing isnt THAT bad...Disney would do slightly better..but not enough to drum in enough buisness
