Hello,

I am planning a trip to SoCal from 9/27-10/1. I would like to spend a day in DLR during my stay. I have been to DLR in the past but only during the summer. Are crowds significantly lower during this time of year? I can only visit the park for one day (either Sat 9/29 or Sun 9/30). Which is the better day to visit? Thanks for any help.

BTW, 1st post!!!
Sorry if this is not the right forum to post this.

I am in California and crowds on weekends are very consistent most times of the year since most of the crowds are locals. With that said it would be slightly better than summer months and hitting the park on either day should be no problem unless you are going to try and do Disneyland and Cali Adventure.

Possibly the mod's will move you as there is a Disneyland section. You may want to check that out for additional information.

To answer briefly, crowds are generally lighter, but weekends are the heaviest, especially Saturday. I would say your choice of days depends on what you must see. Both Fantasmic and Dreams come True fireworks are only on Sat. Sunday does have Fantasmic. Saturday is open till 12, Sun. till 10.

As with WDW there is really no bad time to visit the Mouse, and especially if you have never been to DL!

I live in SoCal and am an annual passholder at DLR. It has been my experience that both weekend days can be crowded, but you do tend to get a slight break on Sundays - especially first thing in the morning, The crowds will tend to get heavier after lunchtime, but if you hit some of the most popular attractions early, you'll be able to see a lot!

During non peak times (during the time you're going), as long as it isn't a major holiday or during the weekends, you should be okay. I believe you can pre order their Halloween Party tickets now. I would also suggest using the UG. DH and I are Californians and go to DLR from time to time, and the UG is a great way to beat the crowds, and go on numerous rides non stop with little to no wait.

Mickey's Halloween Treat begins on Oct 4 and runs on different days through 31st. 3 fridays are already sold out.

Sunday should be better than Sat because people attend religious services, watch football and must return to work the next day too. I'd do Disneyland at opening until it gets busy, hop over to DCA and hop back to DL in the evening.
