If you go to Magic Kingdom NYE, you can expect a late regular closing (2am)
during the day they have the christmas parade at 12pm and 3:30pm
at 7pm and 10:30pm they do MSEP
at 8:30pm is Holiday Wishes
11:50pm is FitS fireworks
My prediction of MMY Showtimes are 7:45pm and 9:30pm (not offical, just my prediction)
Around 8pm - park close they had a live dj spinning the entire park.
(this is based on experience, i have counted down 2010,2011 here)

Else where, just expect lots and lots of people.

Get to the park you want early in the day as they may close. MK hands out air horns/whistles in the late afternoon. Expect lots of people but its lots of fun. I will be at MK on NYE, can't wait!

I spent New Year's Eve last year with my four adult children at Epcot. We spent the morning at Animal Kingdom and headed to Epcot at 2:00. Magic Kingdom was closed at this time. The place was packed and I mean packed. Rides were hours long - we had made dinner reservations at the new Mexican place. Good thing to do. Walking around was unbelievable! You were shoulder to shoulder with people. My daughters and I waited in line for 20 minutes to use the ladies room. It was crowed beyond our imagination. We found a spot to see the fireworks and stood for two hours as people had picked their spots and were sitting on blankets etc. We were staying at the Yacht Club so it was an easy escape after the madness.

Would I do it again. You bet I would. We love the parks that much.

So make dinner reservations and be very prepared for the crowds.

Also, go to the parks when they open the next morning. No one is there. My girls just walked on soar'n twice and had now wait at test track!

Have a wonderful trip!!

Just about what I expected then! I try to go "off season" ~as if there is one anymore! And am an AP holder so rides are not a big deal.

My daughter is super excited! We are leaving the little kiddos home and are having more of an "adult" trip.
